Is it normal to wait for over 4 weeks for Visum after AM? What could be the issue? |

nameundisclosed: My City Pfarrkirchen frustrates the hell out of renewals not on sponsorship letter. For people on SL it’s a walk in the park and you get 2 years. For BA people, we have to present a 1year contract. By one year contract it means the one year should start counting from the day of your renewal appt. This means: even if you have 1 year contract with some months already exhausted you’re asked to block the difference. Example, let’s say you’re already 5 months into your contract. Those previous 5months don’t count. To them you only have 7months contract and must block the spent 5months. Also They do a funny calculation on your paycheck deducting tax* even though you don’t have to pay tax and to them that’s what you earn. Trust, the process and struggle during renewal is a nightmare. Corona made it somewhat easier but it was still a strong struggle. I’m glad I’m done with the school and city. Cities like passau will not renew your RP with a work contract. You must block again. I know a lot of friends that had to buy SL after coming in with BA. Bavaria in it self is a very crazy state. Schooling and exams are harder, The people are very uptight and proud, your years in school does not count towards PR unlike other cities where they count half or full. 1 Like 1 Share |

Please, I have a question: if one graduated with a first class grade in 2018, can you apply for German visa on Cat. A? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Nobody: 7:02pm On Dec 26, 2021 |
patokenneth: That's sufficient for Category A |

nameundisclosed: Try to update yourself from time to time on the consulate's website to avoid giving out wrong information or direct the person to the website if you're not too sure. For 2018 first class graduates, their category A status ended on 31st March 2021. They're now in category B. 2 Likes

Good evening all, i got my AD a few days back, i bless God for that. On the checklist i saw up "Upto date Admission letter" the question is, the admission letter i got in 2020 is it still valid? Or should i request for another from the school?. And another major thing that has been bothering me is that i deferred my admission some months back after giving up hope on AD two semesters online and inability to write exams and the online classes where becoming too tiring. My request was granted and I was given until winter semesters 2022 to resume to avoid losing my admission cause i told them about the visa issues and how i could no longer cope with the online lectures. My main question is will this affect my visa interview or process? I already wrote to the school but due to the festivities i have to wait until January 3rd to get a response. Please any info will help |

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Finiks: 7:43am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Miguelflacko: I believe the admission letter needs to be given to you just once. Deferment only happens when you've been offered admission. So I'll say that that admission letter is sufficient. Just answer the embassy appropriately should they ask any questions related to it. And by the way, are you going for B.Sc or M.Sc, and when did you book? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Miguelflacko(m): 9:55am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Finiks: Thanks. Yes I'm going for B.Sc and I reapplied around 1st week of April 2nd or 3rd .. |

Miguelflacko: That's wonderful. Can you remember the exact time or help look it up? I'm also going for B.Sc and I applied towards midnight 2nd of April. |

Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Elninoarmando(m): 10:41am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Miguelflacko: You have nothing to worry about, but, your school should really come to your aid, since it involves deferment. Write to your school to give you current enrollment letter/certificate for the semester. I think it involves payment of tuition fee and/or semester fee. Photocopy all your lecture notes, assignments, experiments,tests,etc-they are called transcription of records,ie proofs you really attended lectures online and take them along with the other required documents while going for the interview.Don't worry about the missed exams.I didn't write exams,my visa was approved.A guy I gave this information here too didn't write exams and he's now in Germany. You can explain to them why you didn't take them.Note, don't explain or talk anything you're not asked while at the consulate. All the best. 1 Like |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Elninoarmando(m): 10:52am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Finiks: Nooo! The consulate don't care about deferment. All they want to confirm is,if you're currently enrolled in your studies. His/her school have the bigger role to play here. If they can confirm his/her status as their current student, there's no issue. |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by CooKeed(m): 11:11am On Dec 28, 2021 |
Miguelflacko: Congrats! You need to prove that your admission is still valid. That is what "up to date admission letter" means. So either you provide an admission letter that is valid for the incoming semester or proof of enrolment for the current semester. In your case you 'paused' your studies. Just get an official proof from your school that you can resume in the next summer semester or winter. But take note that if you're resuming in winter 2022 your visa will likely not be issued until it is close to that time. In any case, the important thing is to go for your interview and go with an official proof of your student status. Cheers. |

Please I need help understanding something. What's the link between booking in April at midnight and the resetting of the system? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by CooKeed(m): 12:28pm On Dec 28, 2021 |
nameundisclosed: In the past (I don't think they do that anymore), all appointment bookings were reset at the end of March and September. So if you didn't get an AD by the end those months you'd have to re-book. So people tried to book new appointments by midnight of Apr 1st or Oct 1st, based on they presumption that ADs are given on a first come, first served basis. 1 Like |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Nobody: 12:39pm On Dec 28, 2021 |
CooKeed: Alright. So, is that what happens now, first come first served? |
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by CooKeed(m): 1:18pm On Dec 28, 2021 |
nameundisclosed: It is a presumption. Honestly no one fully gets the logic, especially now that appointment bookings are no longer reset. In recent past, generally speaking, I think first come first served held true, provided you didn't choose a very early start date. This is based on my own observation. But now, I'm not sure anymore. There are people who booked early, chose faraway start dates and still didn't get AD. It is a mystery. |
