Yes God is Black. He is a being and a spirit. God can change into any form He wants to! GOD IS A GIANT GREAT PERSON!!!!!!


Second response: In a way God is. God isn't suppose to be a definable being, not of any gender, race, or even human.
However, as people we need to define God somehow, find a way to understand and relate to God.
Black Theology was the first major movement that suggested God is Black. Many people before probably believed this, but Black theologians made it a statement. Many people, black, white, and brown tend to react badly to this. People tend to get so used to the idea that Gods the way Leonardo Da Vinci portrayed him for example. A big, old white man. This sort of images were to make members of the old church seem more powerful and legitimate. I believe any images of God are ultimately false. God is a Being of all Being, beyond our understanding.
But the statement God is Black makes a lot of sense in the modern American context. Black people are often the most impoverish, the ones who struggle the most against prejudice, etc.
The Bible makes many references to God being on the side of the oppressed. And since black people in America are perhaps the most oppress, God reflecting the image of those who struggles makes the most sense.
But also, and this statement tends to offend people a lot, in my mind if God is the oppressed, God is also a woman and a queer, as well as black.
