Before the senators sit for impeachment proceedings they will first take an Oath to uphold the constitution above self. Plus there will be the chief justice present to interpret the constitution and determine if and when Trump broke the constitution.

So far all the Republicans have said they will stick to that oath and will be impartial in their support as a party member except 2. They have been identified and noted.
