The representative of Ondo South in the Senate, Nicholas Tofowomo, and the Benin Electricity Distribution Company have met to tackle power outage in a number of communities in the state.

Hundreds of communities in the senatorial district have been without electricity in the past 10 years.

According to the media aide to Senator Tofowomo, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola, various issues bordering on the power supply to the communities as well as the issuance of prepaid meters were discussed at the meeting.

He said the resolved that the BEDC should meet with the Licence Electrical Contractor of Nigeria for certification of meter installation to avoid electrical hazards and loss of life and property when electricity was finally restored in the communities.

The lawmaker said, “It was also resolved that the BEDC should begin an awareness/sensitisation programme in Ode-Aye and Igbokoda.”

Akinrinlola said they complained that they would only be left with 20 megawatts which could only be released for just 20 transformers because of over-dependent on the transformer in Ondo town, which does not have the capacity to power all communities in Ondo South because of its condition.

Ikale people haven't had power supply since 2014.
It beats me why their political leaders haven't done anything about this. You all may think this gibberish written up there is an awakening but it's all a lie. The hope died immediately the writer ended his report.
