- as Osinbajo's led council achieves another feat.

The Political Counselor of the British High Commission, Mr. Dominic Williams, on Thursday called on foreign investors to invest in Nigeria and Africa. Speaking through his official tweeter handle @domWUK, Williams wrote: "Investors pay attention #InvestinAfrica #InvestinNigeria" in response to Eniola Opeyemi.

Earlier, Eniola Opeyemi through his twitter handle, @eniola_opeyemi tweeted: "PHOTO: Nigeria, China, India Among 10 Most Improved Economies – World Bank

Nigeria, China, and India made the top 10 list of governments that have done the most in the past year to improve the ease of doing business in their countries, the World Bank said on Wednesday." This is from World Bank latest ranking on improved economies in the world.

Nigeria made the top 10 list of governments that have done the most in the past year to improve the ease of doing business in their countries, the World Bank said on Wednesday. Nigeria ranked 131 on the list after moving up by 15 places from its 2019 spot. “Nigeria conducted reforms impacting six indicators, including making the enforcement of contracts easier, which placed the 200-million-person economy among the world’s top improvers.

“Removing barriers facing entrepreneurs generates better jobs, more tax revenues and higher incomes, all of which are necessary to reduce poverty and raise living standards,” World Bank Group President David Malpass said in a statement. “Only two Sub-Saharan African economies rank in the top 50 on the ease of doing business rankings while most of the bottom 20 economies in the global rankings are from the region,” WorldBank said in a statement.

Recall, The Buhari administration in 2016 initiated the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo with 13 ministers as members, among others.

The council, through the Enabling Business Environment Secretariat collaborated with ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), the National Assembly, judiciary, state governments and the private sector to carry out over 140 reforms so far, in a bid to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria and make the country a progressively easier place to start and grow businesses.

From the latest ranking as well as pronouncements from experts in the field, it is obvious that the Osinbajo led PEBEC have performed at its optimal, placing Nigeria and themselves among the best performing teams on the ease of doing business in the world.

There are lots of untapped potential in Nigeria and Africa. But most of the people that are financially okay prefer to use their money to oppress.
