    what is the function of "overdrive" in autos and where is that of 97 camry located as i seem not able to locate it though i see the icon in the instrument cluster (dashboard) remains lit reading ''od/OFF". thanks.

check the gear shift knob(handle) there is a botton by the side of it, press it, the overdrave light will go off. it usually delay the selection of the gear to give the engine moe raving power andsporty drive. hope it helps.
