But sometimes fans can take things too far for instance.

David Ostrom, of Paola, Kansas, is currently in a prolonged custody battle with his ex-wife, who lives with their children in Shelby County, Iowa.

He had been trying to get to see his children for a long time and became so much frustrated with the legal battle that he finally requested that the judge allow the case be settled with "A Trial By Combat ".
A trial by combat is a GOT term for when someone in dispute call on a warrior to fight a one on one battle with his opponent's warrior and whoever's warrior wins, wins the dispute.

David was frustrated with the long legal proceedings of the court and finally requested for a quick settlement of the case.

The really funny thing is that...a trial by combat is legally allowed in the USA. So if the court permits it. A trial by combat can actually be used to settle the case, IF the court permits it.

David is really not the first person to request for this.

Several years back, a lawyer named Richard Luthmann asked for a trial by combat in response to getting sued for allegedly helping a client commit fraud.

Lithmann thought the case was so ridiculous that only a proper trail by combat could settle it.
