After you have purchased your flight tickets and set your sights on relocating to a new country, you flit across every room of your house with a carefully-drawn-up checklist in hand. Months of planning have ensured that you have finally made up your mind about the belongings you want to leave behind in storage and the things you want to take away with you. Next comes the herculean task of selecting the right carrier to transport your valuable possessions to your new house and actually turn it into a home. Read on to learn about the important parameters to consider while searching for options for international transport to Israel.
Choose your carrier for international transport to Israel with caution. Many Israeli shipping companies offer insurance cover, right from packing to delivery of your goods. You must opt for an insurance cover for all your items so that you are covered for any loss or theft.
FCL vs. LCL

If you are moving across continents or countries, household goods can be sent internationally by ocean freight. There are two types of shipments; you can opt for partial containers or Less Than Container Loads (LCL) and exclusive containers or Full Container Loads (FCL). When it comes to selecting between FCL and LCL shipments, shipment volume is measured in cubic meters/feet and, is more often than not, the deciding factor. Usually, LCL tend to be a better option for low-volume shipments ranging between 2m3 and 13m3 whereas FCL work for high-volume shipments measuring 13m3 and above.
Price

Cost plays a vital role in selecting the mode of shipment. FCL shipments are usually cheaper if the shipment occupies more than 14m3 or uses more than 10 standard pallets. The rates of LCL and FCL are variable; usually, LCL shipping rates tend to be more stable.
LCL is a better option for shipments with flexible dates but if you need your goods to arrive urgently, FCL is the more practical choice. Other than transshipments, LCL shipments are usually more prone to delays during its shipping journey due to multiple handling; LCL shipments need to be unloaded and loaded each time they arrive at a transshipment port, resulting in delays.
