It's almost impossible not to talk about Nigeria and Nigerians. You meet them any and everywhere.

The most populated black nation in the world. People talk about us for our ground breaking achievements and of course, our unpleasant deeds.

Here are some reasons!

It's only in Nigeria leaders will come out to say they have built a world class hospital only to fly to India or the UK for medical treatment, even to check blood sugar level. They never go close to the hospital after commissioning.
Nigerians have been heralded as one of the most educated citizens living in foreign countries.
A place where every weekend is a celebration; bars filled up, colourful marriage celebrations, clubs filled to the brim, religious services echoing to heaven and even burial's of aged relatives call for a party.
A country where leaders continue to convince the youths that "they are the leaders of tomorrow" but the same leader has done all he can to remain in power in one way or another since I was born. Oga, which tomorrow are we talking about? Abi, is tomorrow a name of place?
A country that is still at the top of the jollof rice pyramid in West Africa despite our minister of information who's name is undoubtedly Lai Muhammed, claiming it was the Senegalese. Nigerian jollof rice is still the best!
A Country recently awarded the poverty capital of the world. And home of the fantastically corrupt leaders. But managed to remain the largest economy in Africa.
The church headquarters. Land of miracle workers. Home of rich pastors, poor members.
A country where leaders have successfully out maneuvered and enslaved citizens and has kept them begging for a drop of crumbs from their golden dinnings so the masses could continue fighting for their longevity.
A country who's citizens have given up on their government and has launched war on survival, battling against every odd, launching businesses to fight hunger and rewrite family histories.
A nation who's citizens have all become vigilante, guarding and protecting themselves because the majority of authorities have been bought over by rich political leaders to guard there empty houses, parked cars and sleeping wives and children.
A nation where citizens have realized Democracy as a demonstration of madness, a sick system that has giving the majority tribes and the ruling parties power to continue to determine our future in the worst possible way while making it look pretty
A nation where after graduating from tertiary institutions the first place graduates go to is to learn hand-work, instead of heading to companies or government offices for interviews.
A country where hundred thousand persons apply for hundred available positions in a company wanting to employ qualified personnel. The good news is, they are all qualified for the job. A tough choice for the company, and tough luck for applicants.
A country where people work tirelessly to turn stone to bread as a challenge to poverty... say poverty no reach, as a pure Naija blood.
A place where every Jane, Grace and mary from some fancy country claimed to have sent their hard earned savings to. And are now working tirelessly with the FBI to get them back after discovering it was a false promise... That's what the world call a romance scam.
The only country that could block a government road because of a marriage or a burial ceremony, thereby causing the most dreadful of traffic.
The only country in the world where you pay development fee before developing your own land, or constructing a road in a community. One practically pays to develop an undeveloped empty land. We are fast to blame the government but never our individual evil acts.
The only country people write “not for sale” and “beware of 419” on their properties. My English friends wouldn't stop making jokes about this at my previous job.
A country where a taxi driver carrying crate of eggs is more careful than the one carrying human beings. Life is a rollercoaster
A country where the most effective way to convince people to do a thing is to ask them never to do it... and vice versa.
A country where one could experience one of the closest relationships within and outside the family. What ever you own is also a property of your close relatives and friends except the person is unfriendly, and he will automatically qualify for the name "wicked man". Most women won't feel comfortable in her husbands house without the blessings of her husband's close relatives.
A country where activities like sport, music, marriage, burial and birthday celebrations could unite sworn enemies. No,...not religion, that's where enemity starts. Feel to talk about Nigeria and Nigerian, let see if we can right the wrong.
