Snail Farming: An Untapped Source Of Wealth. by Alhajijesus(m): 10:33pm On Jan 23, 2020
Snail Farming is a profitable venture but why?*

A client has once asked me this question: *If you're right and quite sure that snail farming is a profitable business, why do you want many people to go into the business, won't you fear it will eventually affect your returns in the long run?*

My response: Personally, I always do research, carry out due diligence and necessary consultations before investing my pennies on any venture. From my research and findings, I got to know that snail farming is a venture with multiple sources of income which are yet to be known/tapped by many.

Snail is still in short supply in Nigeria today going by the recent preliminary market analysis suggesting that an additional 25,000 tons, or a 100 per cent increase can easily be absorbed.

Currently, the *demand* for snail *outweighs* the *supply* . So the market is wide and readily available as the snail farmers are not currently meeting demands.

In fact, I know a restaurant with a consistent order (a request) of *3000 snails* per week. I have another client or customer who gave me *an order of 10, 000 snails* on monthly basis. These are some of huge demands begging for supply.

Also, most people don't know that snail is an export commodity. Last year, I missed an opportunity to exploit snails worth *millions* of naira. Of course, this is due to my *limited* *farm* *capacity* *and* *financial* *constraints* .

Finally, there is nothing like cutting my returns either in the short or long run. Rather, we want many to invest in the industry so that we can all work to boost the supply and fill the existing needs.

*Mab* *farms* is always available to take you through the basics and business of snail farming so that you too can exploit riches of this sector that is yet to be noticed by many.
