Power sector is like the much touted regional government control advocated by some section of the country which the northern region didn't consent to. GEJ unbundle the power sector and gave each region or their representatives total control but our northern brothers have been kicking against it since the coming of this administration.

The northerners just want total control of the energy sector nothing more.

I saw a news paper article in 1986 where the then minister of power assured Nigerians of steady power supply. That's is over 30 years. Dear friends, forget it.

These are some of the reasons why the Nigerian people are under a self inflicted siege power(electricity) wise.

.Ethnic sentiment

.Brainwashing by Western and local media in their bias reporting,.

Greediness among Nigerians

Religion: Christian, Muslim, Africa spiritual.

There is nothing like unity among these party.

renewable energy like solar wind and hydro are the solution, how many litres of petrol or natural gas will you burn to power a town, and they, renewable ones are also environmental friendly, but we all know what to do we just keep paying lip service

1.7 trillion and for this we have grid collapse every other month

Hear ye Hear ye o ye hailers, you will realize soon enough the scale of grand corruption in years to come .

Transparency International, thank you for your report.

When GEJ was looting our ranking was better than when PMB is fighting corruption.

That only $3bn in 3years.
I have noticed improved power supply in Awka Anambra.

Interestingly same El Rufai was a minister when Obasanjo govt gulped $16bn in 1 year, but kept mute.

Stupidity is in people trying to use the same method they have used for years without success to solve a particular problem. Decentralize this power arrangement, they won't hear.

There was never a $16 billion dollar spent.
Nigeria neither has that money nor did it borrowed it.
The proposal was to spend $16 billion dollars, about $2 billion dollars was eventually spent on independent power projects.
It is not a surprise why the contractors and ministers involved in the projects are not on the top list on EFCC
since that would have been used to humiliate OBJ. This is not a defense of anybody because fraud is always involved in
any government contract but it is important to set the record straight.

In terms of duration this government has spent almost the same time in office as the Goodluck Jonathan administration. Thus you don't hear much 'previous regime blame gaming'..... their supporters are becoming tongue tied, some joining us in utter bewilderment.

Transparency International's report is out and corruption perception has worsened. Slipped from 144 to 146 in just one year.... so much for the anti corruption dogma of this administration. Not surprised at the humongous amount.

You must be slow not to see that what I posted was cynical vis-à-vis the claims by the Minister of Power, Mr Sule Mamman that Cabals are responsible for ‘Darkness’ in Nigeria’s power sector.

OBJ as bad as he was as president, he left Nigeria with it's lowest debt and largest foreign reserves.

$16 billion was the planned budget but less than $2 billion spent, I blame OBJ for his lack of foresight and planning, had he embarked on the electricity programme much earlier in his government he might have delivered some results. The same cannot be said of Buhari government that is full of hot air and about to double Nigeria debt profile.

Decentralization of rail you say no...

But you will be spending our collective wealth on things that can't work....give #nigerians 6 regions... ( politicians already use 6 geopolitical regions at party level).
