I am quite surprised about the efficiency of the examination office at my University, TU Ilmenau. It took me roughly 30 minutes after I defended my thesis to receive the unofficial transcripts and certificate. Comparing this to 2016 when I graduated from Kwara State University, it was not really an interesting one as students have to wait for months and in some cases, years to have their unofficial results processed. For private institutions, it is all about charging students a huge amount of money to have what they already labored and paid for me. Leaving out some universities, the amount of injustice being done to students in this part of the world is unimaginable and I would appreciate the help of education stakeholders in ensuring students get what is rightly theirs as soon as possible, in a week for example.

Unilorin is one of the fastest when it comes to issuing certificates. In some schools, you have to wait for several years before you collect your certificate. What they will give you to make use of in job hunting or any application is your transcript (student copy) or statement of result.

Quite good. All Nigerians I know have something after graduation, so I remain hopeful. And one other benefit of studying abroad is that I can always relocate easily.

Sorry about that, you should try and get a student copy, I believe most schools accept SC in lieu, but you have to make the original available.
Not all schools gives this option though.
Try again if you're still interested.

Why do I think the Op is lying? I beleive he is trying to rubbish Nigeria university Education system. 30min kor.

If the OP is lying which I don't think is the case but I have personal experience of schools that know what they are doing in Nigeria.

For instance ABU takes forever to process transcript request, I almost lost my Msc admission within Nigeria. I paid for transcript since Oct 2013 and my transcript got to UI in March 2014. Despite paying 10k.

Same can't be said for UI, they procesed by transcript request within 4 working days and paid less.

We always complain of government this and that, but it's our friends and family that works in all this offices and they fail to do their jobs except you give them a push in bribe or other manners.

What they fail to know is their children and grandchildren will go through the same system and by then people with their attitude would be recycled in the system, they will be powerless when it comes to helping their own children cos they don't won't know who's who any longer.

it's high time we stop thinking of instant gratification and focus on leaving a better legacy for upcoming generations to do what's right and work for their rewards.

To those saying that the OP is lying, send an email to any German university. You will get a reply in 10 -30 minutes.

They already know there graduating students and have started long ago to process there certificates. Is it not just to print it?

Send an email to a Nigerian university. 2 years is the minimum wait period for a reply and 10 years maximum.
