Four suspects earlier arrested and detained by the Nigeria Police for alleged car theft have been finally released.

However, the owner of the car later disclosed that his car was never stolen, yet the police authority in Rivers State continued to torture and later prosecuted them.

The four suspects have been behind the popular social media tag #Ikuku4.

One of them simply identified as Chima was reportedly tortured to death by the office officers last December.

The late Chima was a vehicle mechanic allegedly killed while in custody of the E Crack Police Unit in Port Harcourt.

Upon being released today following the Department Of Public Prosecution's position that there is no case against them and  their subsequent discharge, various degrees of injury was found on them as a result of the torture melted on them by the police officers.

A group of civil society organisations had already declared today as a #BlackWednesday against police brutality.

The late Chima left behind a pregnant wife and parents.

Oh God, the most painful part of this whole thing is that the presidency seems not to be bothered over complains of constant and daily brutality and killings by the Police and SARS, thus emboldening these unscrupulous elements in the force.

#endsarsbrutality has been on for years now but the Buhari presidency is not bothered.

Just look at what innocent people have to go through in the hands of those that are supposed to protect them.

This is one in a million case, who knows how many innocent people all over the nation that are accused falsely and they are suffering for what they don't know.

The wound appears infected shocked The men behind their travail shall know no peace.

Even in detention, the dude did not even have access to proper medical attention. If not ,how come the wounds degenerate to this

I wish him a speedy recovery.
