Anybody can update and post a page on Wikipedia but you must have citations and good sources or else people could report. I have an account too. The thing was for publicity.

They take measures to make sure they are reliable you must state your citations or note that citations are needed. Your info must be reliable I think that's why they block accounts sometimes.

I once edited a wikipedia page with fake info and within 30 mins it was updated with the right and accurate info. I doubt if anyone can just edit wikipedia. That's why their info is always accurate. They have a in house crew
