Job Description
TechWeek is looking for an Associate Editor to advance our mission of becoming the leading provider of news and information on technology products and services in the Nigerian ICT sector.

Based in Lagos, Nigeria and reporting to the Managing Editor, the full-time Associate Editor position will write, edit, and contribute other content-development duties as needed, to enable us realise our vision of becoming the newspaper of choice for suppliers and consumers in the Nigerian ICT sector.

The successful candidate must have at least three years of IT reporting and editing experience, sharp writing and editing skills, proven ability to frame stories for niche publications, experience working with freelance writers and a clear understanding of either newspaper or magazine and online production. Online content, creation and production experience is preferred. The job will require finding and developing sources, as well as covering events. 

Qualifications:
The successful candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented and is capable of handling multiple deadlines and different types of assignments simultaneously.

S/he enjoys interacting with ICT sector players, service providers and staff, is capable of representing Tech Week professionally, and is willing to travel occasionally for projects and events. S/he is also an experienced and versatile writer and editor, is comfortable working in all media, including print and online, and is a quick study of emerging communication platforms and technologies.

The Associate Editor may also be required to oversee writers, manage freelancers, internal staff or a mix of both.

Experience in writing about technology products and services, particularly the business of new technologies, is preferred. A demonstrated knowledge of such issues is required.
