So this government was re-elected to alleviate the sufferings of neighboring countries while Nigerians are taxed highly in whatever they do? |

"So, in exchange for not damming those rivers and preventing them from flowing into the dams, the countries got mandatory supply of electricity from Nigeria," said Mamman. Niger Republic is already building Kandadji hydroelectric dam. It's strange Nigeria hasnt brought this up during this tarriff discussion. What's the new policy towards them after it's completion. They'll still need power since the dam only generates 130 MW. Front page: Lalasticlala 2 Likes 1 Share

I wonder why we still supply electricity to other countries when we clearly need it more than them. |

Always Favouring Niger Rep because they ar Fulanis Apart from Northern Nigeria the other place Buhari has favoured most is Niger Republic. He favoured them in 1985 when he voted Ide Oumarou for OAU sec. gen a Fulani from Niger Rep against Peter Onu an Igbo man. Now he has entered again as civilian president he has continued favouring them. When he closed Nigerian borders he left Nigeria-Niger Rep border open for them not to suffer. Now he has favoured them again by promising them cheaper electricity why Nigerians ar paying exorbitant prize for it. No wonder their president send his top governmental officials to attend his campaign rally. If Buhari has the means he will amalgamate Niger Rep with Nigeria 3 Likes |

Lol it's funny Niger Republic is dependent on electricity when their major export is uranium. If they were a competent nation they would have nuclear power plants supplying their power needs. Nigeria on the other hand needs the water to sustain the population. It would be an existential threat if were cut for any reason. The electricity is a secondary when there's plenty of natural gas to supply the country. 1 Like 1 Share |

"Regarding the tariff for TCN transportation services, it turns out that the sale price for the supply of electricity is significantly increased, estimated at about 70 per cent. This increase is unbearable for Niger as it stands," In case you guys are wondering how much Nigeria makes off electricity exports to niger Republic. It's steadly been growing and they want to stop it. They spend more on tobacco imports without crying. If they smoke less they could pay their bills. 2016: N6,474,560,157.81 2017: N8,376,834,776.72 Q1 1,735,201,606.70 Q2 2,247,198,915.00 Q3 2,178,784,379.00 Q4 2,215,649,876.02 2018: N9,745,275,417.55 Q1 2,116,702,104.10 Q2 2,649,707,513.85 Q3 2,599,366,090.10 Q4 2,379,499,709.50 2019: Q1 N2,243,558,858.50 1 Like 1 Share

Fasindo: Lol he probably would like to annex them like Hitler did Austria. The only issue is they dont care. They're different from the northern Nigeria due to french influence. One example being they dont have sharia despite having over 90% muslim population. Even when it's time to plan major projects like oil pipeline or rail line they'd rather work with Benin Republic. Their pleas for cheaper power is nonsense. Benin Republic will make the same demands soon. They pay the same price and buy much more. The can always build on River Nigeria like Niger Republic is doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHeq99pojLo 2 Likes 1 Share |

Compare electricity exports with Benin. Niger Republic imports less and plan on breaking agreements the minister mentioned. Nigerians and Beninese people haven't died over the tarrifs so Nigeriens should pay. 2016: 22,837,248,612.40 2017: 25,905,582,963.6 Q1 6,464,364,118.00 Q2 7,164,653,642.00 Q3 5,162,968,459.00 Q4 7,113,596,744.60 2018: 30,673,446,313.68 Q1 7,614,454,951.68 Q2 7,830,172,402.00 Q3 7,181,843,683.00 Q4 8,046,975,277.00 2019 Q1: 8,000,015,624.00

You are planning palliative measures for your kinsmen while at same time impoverishing Nigerians in their own country with high tariffs, multiple taxation and general poor standard of living. More questions for those who contributed to this calamity. |
