HOW TB JOSHUA SAW DAVID LYON’S REMOVAL AS BAYELSA STATE GOVERNOR

The ruling from Nigeria’s Supreme Court that Chief David Lyon should be removed as the Governor of Bayelsa State due to discrepancies in the certificates of his deputy-governorship candidate came as a shock to many.

However, several Bayelsa indigenes were quick to point out a veiled warning given by Prophet TB Joshua to Lyon during his visit to The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on December 1st 2019.

Lyon had said his attendance was for ‘Thanksgiving’ but Joshua quickly insisted “it was not yet time for testimony”, stressing that he needed prayers and should not celebrate until after the inauguration.

Notably absent from the service was Lyon’s Deputy-Governorship candidate - Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremienyo - whose certificates he submitted to INEC were the centre of controversy.

A member of Lyon’s entourage during his visit to The SCOAN revealed behind-the-scene details of Joshua’s discussions with Lyon, explaining that the cleric had insisted on Degi-Eremienyo’s presence in the church as he was seeing “an obstacle”

According to him, the Senator refused to come because of his position as a high-ranking bishop and priest in the religious sect ‘The Brotherhood of the Cross and the Star’ under the cult leadership of Olumba Olumba Obu.

A Facebook Profile belonging to Degi-Eremienyo shows several images of him dressed in the sect’s regalia and states he “believes in His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu and the promotion of universal love and peace to enhance spiritual emancipation of mankind.”

Lyon’s aide revealed the former Governor-elect was even in The SCOAN on Tuesday 11th February 2020 - when the Supreme Court affirmed his candidature - where Joshua repeated his warning about Senator Biobarakuma and the “obstacle” he foresaw.

“Joshua was invited as a special guest to the inauguration on Friday but he said he would not attend because of that obstacle,” the aide revealed. “Today, we can all see what has happened.”

“I am not going to say anything that the Spirit of God will not,” Joshua told Lyon publicly during the service last year, stressing the need to always seek God’s opinion.
