There are two ways to install Netgear EX6120 WiFi range extender.

1. Using the web browser setup method.
2. Using the WPS method.

You can choose any one of the above-mentioned methods to install your Netgear WiFi extender. Read on!

Using the web browser setup method

1. Plug your Netgear EX6120 WiFi range extender in a power outlet and wait for a few minutes for the power LED on it to become solid green. Make sure to place your Netgear range extender in reach of your WiFi router.
2. As soon as you connect your Netgear extender with your router, the router link LED on your EX6120 will blink.
3. Now, open a web browser on your client device and enter mywifiext in its address bar.
4. Click on the NEW EXTENDER SETUP button.
5. Complete the fields given on the Extender Setup screen and click on the Next button.
6. Click on the WIFI RANGE EXTENDER (if you want to configure your EX6120 in extender mode).
7. Select the name of the WiFi network you wish to extend and then click on the Next button.
8. Enter the passphrase and click on the Next button.
9. Connect your client devices to the range extender's WiFi network and click on the Continue button.
10. Your extender is configured successfully. Click on the Next button to proceed with the registration process.
11. Once the registration of your device is done successfully, click on the Finish button to complete Netgear EX6120 setup process.

Are you facing mywifiext.local not working errors? Don't worry! Just use Netgear extender's default IP address 192.168. 1.250 as a web address.

Using the WPS method

1. Plug-in your Netgear EX6120 AC1200 WiFi extender to the power outlet near to your existing router.
2. Wait for a few seconds for the power and the router LED on your Netgear WiFi extender to become solid green.
3. Locate the WPS button on your Netgear WiFi range extender.
4. Press and hold the WPS on your Netgear EX6120 WiFi extender.
5. Hold and release it.
6. After a few minutes, push the WPS button on your main wireless router as well.

Note: If your existing WiFi router is dual-band, simply repeat the steps 4 and 5 to extend the 5GHz band.

7. Once your Netgear EX6120 extender is connected to your main wireless router, the WPS LED on your Netgear extender will become solid green and the Router Link LED will turn on.

Now, you can connect your client devices to the new extender WiFi and after that, you can move your Netgear extender to its preferred location.

Thus, your Netgear extender is successfully configured using the WPS method.
