I do not blame them for the threat to government. Previous governments in Lagos, for example, since the 1970s abandoned government responsibility of providing transport for the people. This particular union has a national spread. It is only in the south west that it is a form of terror group. In Lagos, danfo drivers and conductors never have peace in the hands of wicked union members. Even passengers are not spared. Oshiomole dealt with them in Edo state and there is sanity there.

Their threat is meaningless. Knowing them, their members depend on their daily income. They have never participated in any national strike. They always truncate it. Who are the "they" to tell "their people", who live from hand to mouth on a daily basis to down the tools that bring them their daily meal? You think the drivers who are benefitting from Makinde's directive and are driving in peace today will listen to agberos? Maximum they will break some windscreens, but Makinde should get any- and everybody who disturbs the public peace arrested with satellite speed and made to face the full wrath of the law!

Let us leave all this semantics and say the reality on ground, they collect revenue via ticketing and harassment, by the way I didn't mention "for government", if they are unions then they should fix a date for their union meeting, then the members go there, drink beer and pay meeting contribution money as it meant to be, not sitting in the park, harass drivers, collect loading money, that is only used for the enjoyment of their leaders for a position gotten by violence. They should not collect money and leave the park and drivers. If oyo state wants to increase their igr via transport, how would it be if nurtw is also collecting illegal money. Baba I grew up in lag and I know how those guys do their stuffs. Oyo State is the 14th biggest in Nigeria and biggest in South West with size of 28,454 square metres while Lagos state is the smallest in the country with just 3,345 Square Meters.
