We've been hearing reports like this in the past 49 years. Anyway, oil is not an infinite resource. |

that is when Niger delta will realize themselves. let the northerners keep deceiving them, using their oil money to enrich themselves on the pretext of fighting terrorism. once there is no oil in the south again, Boko Haram will end, the northerners will want secession, claiming it is an abomination to join the Christians with the Muslims. they will now go back to their agriculture and will develop rapidly. while most places in the south will be polluted as a result of oil activities. and the economy in the south will even be worst. 2 Likes |

israelmao:I beg to differ. Nigeria's ethnic diversity and even configuration is similar to other West African countries, like Benin Republic, Togo and Ghana, and non of them have crude oil. Non of them have disintegrated. I feel main reason some people are shouting force marriage, disintegration is that they feel, it is easier to get their hands on the crude, once there are less competition jostling for it. Imagine the whole of the crude being shared by the whole Nigeria now being shared by one forth. It will be free easy money. If crude was not discovered, I sure most Nigerian tribes would have formed closer bond, as production and trade requires good relationship with your neighbours. Trade always promote integration. You always conflate clamour for restructuring with disintegration. Restructuring does not mean disintegration. Restructuring mean different things to different people. I want a restructuring that will first reduce the number of states to reasonable levels, then restricts the powers and responsibilities of the central government to defence, monetary policy and foreign affairs. I want a complete restructuring of our justice system and revenue sharing system. Others want a structured Nigeria with more states. |

EdiskyHarry:You are speaking very ignorant if u think this is how northerners think. If you are an ipob I won't be surprised. Northeners have more to benefit from Nigeria with or without oil, d earlier u get that into your skull the earlier u know that its not oil that's holding us together |

EdiskyHarry:I don't want insult but I want u to tell me how? D ports are in the south, do u think d north would want to become a landlocked nation? That apart the north knows it has all to gain if Nigeria remains one cause they call the shots and almost nothing to benefit from its break up |
Re: DPR: Nigeria’s Oil Reserves Will Run Dry In 49 Years by fabienjoe: 8:11am On Feb 21, 2020 |
Validated: What did you call them? DPR... Department of Petroleum Resources. Their mandate is Petroleum. Emphasis on green energy should be the president's concern but does he know any better? The North is such a wasteland. They hold the key to renewable energy in Nigeria, given their vast agricultural potential but they're too neck-deep into the destructive politics of ethnicity, religion and lazy oil money to devise a plan to realise this potential. |
