The Muslim community of Ladoke Akintola university teaching hospital Osogbo has demanded for the removal of the chief medical director of the hospital,Professor Akeem Lasisi over incompetence and failure to sustain the tempo of development in the institution in the last four years.

In a statement obtained by flashonnews correspondent in osogbo and signed by the chairman,Alhaji Rahmon Kolapo and secretary of Muslim community of the hospital, Doctor Usman Isola said the institution was shadow of itself as what makes an hospital in the twentieth century is gradually disappearing in the institution.

The statement noted that lack of capacity and competence of the CMD of the institution, professor Akeem Lasisi has led to non accreditation of some courses which include surgery orthopedic, urology, plastic surgery ,neurology and pediatric as well as family medicine.

It alleged that the pharmaceutical factory which was hitherto source of revenue generation to the hospital is no longer operating to capacity due to leadership failure ,poor administrative and management approach.

The statement reads ” A hospital in our belief is place for care toward healing ,not human abattoir where people are been killed,we believe we must put religion sentiment aside for the best of us to lead the rest of us”

The Muslim community urged Osun state governor, Mr Gboyega oyetola disregard the call for renewal of professor Lasisi appointment on basis of religion as the institution at this trying period need someone with intellectual acumen ,technical known how, managerial skills ,capacity and competency to take the driver seat as chief medical director of the hospital.

It further called on other critical stakeholders in the institution to support the course and raise consciousness of government on the setback suffered by the hospital in the last four years and emphasis the need for government not to sacrifice competence for religion and other primordial considerations.

In a telephone conversation, the chief medical director, LAUTECH, professor Akeem Lasisi denied the allegation saying the allegations were unfounded and baseless.
