May we all bow to the supreme Igbo culture. Let's cast logic aside. Let's cast common sense, or the Nigerian laws aside. How dare we even put the Yoruba culture into consideration?? Ifeanyi adeleke becomes Ifeanyi Rowland because of 'THE SUPREME TRADITION'

You are talking nonsense. Customary laws are sacrosanct. Traditional marriage is even more sacrosanct that white wedding.

That marriage has not been properly customarily consumated and remain illegal If Chioma's father drags Davido to court, he will win.

E be like say your archaic, primitive Igbo culture never jam were be that.

He who takes custody of the child wins. That's a head start.

What are they winning pls?
The child will definitely stay with its mother, and I'm sure Davido has no issue with that. Afterall, he even has another child on another continent and still has access to her.
You don't expect him to be travelling around on tour with his child, do you?
There's no doubt that it's the sensible choice that Chioma has primary custody of her child, same as Sophia Momodu and Hailey's mother.
However, he will continue to have access to his child, the child continues to bear his name, and Chioma cannot just make any life changing decision on that child's life without David's agreement.
By law, she cannot relocate to another place, without David's agreement, she cannot travel out with the boy without his agreement, she cannot change the boy's name without his agreement.
Dont forget, his name is even on his birth certificate, and they must have registered it together in the UK.
The boy is also an American citizen because of his father. I'm sure he already has his blue passport.
So many reasons your customary laws cannot just work in this case... No matter where you take it to

Please on a more sincere note let us all try and respect tradition.

That child in Igbo tradition rightfully belongs to chioma's father.

How can Davido be claiming a child he hasn't done. Anything on the mothers head. It is fully reserved for chioma's father to either allow the child to go over to David or not.

If he decides tomorrow that this child will be part of his land inheritance and will take his share as his son. He is right.

I am yet to come to terms how this child belongs to david.

The twitter user was right.

Finally, judges that are versed in people's tradition will try such case and on merit of it.

Joker.. somethings shouldn’t even be discussed. Who tradition epp. The twitter user will soon understand that this is not 1866

Good analyses but to shock you, except influenced by other factors: money, corruption, misrepresentation and/or misinterpretation of actual traditional rites, ordinarily, Igbo tradition will not compromise it's standards when it wants to decide on Davido-Chioma unmarried status, with Ifeanyi at hand– it will be so blunt–in the event actual ownership of Ifeanyi arises.

The young man adviced Davido rightly, in the light of Igbo culture and cultural rites.

You are failing to consider on thing,
Davido is not igbo , so he is not bound by igbo culture.

When my first cousin wanted to marry an anambra prince in warri, in one of the ceremonies, he was expected to tie a wrapper. He refused vehemently, he said as a prince, he cannot tie a wrapper. It was a big issue. When I became a stalemate, my uncle got up and told everyone to let the groom wear what his custom permits.
So when you have a clash of cultures, common sense should prevail. You cannot expect others to imbibe your culture by force, that's fundamentalism.

Chioma's father has zero ownership claim over Ifeanyi Adeleke except that he is a nwadiana to Rowland's family.

There are many single Igbo ladies who, out of mutual agreement, bore children who belong and bore the surname of the men that impregnated them. The fathers of these women dare not raise their voice to claim these children because the women have right over their bodies and its products.

Ifeanyi Adeleke belongs exclusively and jointly to his biological father and mother namely Davido and Chioma unless they mutually agree to give him up for adoption. That's it.

The case will be transfered to a different high court.

High courts will not use customary laws to decide on cases regardless of where the high courts are situated o.
