It an aberration that this site has deteriorated to an irredeemable state. It is heart rending that it has plunged to a puerile state where all sorts of balderdash are discussed. The disparity between what is discussed here and what happens out there is majorly.Eighty percent of things that are discussed here are quixotic, utopian and irrelevant. This occurs mostly in romance section. I believe it's time we stopped deluding ourselves and come to grip with the realities of life. Let no one live in fool's paradise. Shalom!

I kinda agree with the op, important threads are often drowned in tales of nairaland e love. Most abhorrent is the Mr. cork dude, that guy gets on my nerves and I cringe each time I see a post from him.

Your point is not taken by yours truly. If you see there's a problem and you aint doing nothing bout it when you have all powers then shut the hell up. With thirty plus posts on the forum, how better do you think you are to those who make those threads you hate to read? angry

SHUT THE HELL UP OR MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

I dont come here for likes, I dont care who wants to like me. I could say the same about you, but I dont know you, to tell the truth, first time I'm even seeing your user name.

Whoops!!
Sorry dearie, it's a pity that you are just noticing that this is not the first time I have mentioned wishing for a good Nigerian man for you. I have come across your touching posts about some distastefulness you have on the attitude of some men and I knew that a good Nigerian man will be good for you. Now I gotta run before you get angry with me.

I ain't giving you no special attention really, just feels for you after reading abt that betrayal by your loved one. It just gladdens my heart to see a foreigner chilling here and feeling at home with my people. That is all there is to it, do take care and go on and have fun.

@ Poster . . wat exactly r u looking for at d " Romance Section"? . . .talks bout Politics and d government? . . about the corruption in the economy? . . . about the contant strikes and poor state of roads, lack of proper infracstructures? Poverty? . . . there are other sections on this site for all thoz serious talks.

Romance section has more to do with the heart . . n ppl just like to relax n let loose here. If ur campin in this section wit d hope of ever seeing anything as serious as ur words implied, ul grow old . .rily.

The OP is right. I totally agree with him. There are a slew of nonsense threads that are posted each day. I don't think that you all should be so quick to pelt him with insults. He has made a valid point. When I first joined Nairaland I stupidly thought I would see some serious relationship issues being discussed here [not to say that all posts are meaningless] but I was sorely mistaken. I know that some people come here to relax and unwind but c'mon people lets admit, some of the things here are both mind boggling and just plain sad. I'm not saying we should all be super serious its just that at times, I can't help but shake my head.

been here for some years now and it has deteriorated from wat it used to be . . . U mos def cant find your exact expectation  here except u decide to scrutinize and approve all threads b4 it is published. It's always better to join an online community wit an open mind . .dat way, u dont get disappointed. Not everyone is as mature and intelligent as u are dear. I realised dat a long time ago . . so I basically take only the serious ones seriously . . n d others, flow on d only level they'll understand.  smiley
