In another strategic move to deepen collaboration and increase hydrocarbon investments in Nigeria, the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari this week led a high-profile delegation to ExxonMobil Corporation's Global Headquarters in Texas, United States of America.

The strategic engagement sought to foster Government-Industry Relations between the Nigerian Federal Government and ExxonMobil, as a means towards boosting confidence premium and expanding the frontiers of Foreign Direct Investments in the oil and gas industry in Africa's biggest hydrocarbon market.

According to NNPC's GMD, the meeting was part of the NNPC's continued engagements with partners to foster collaboration and secure commitment for value enhancement for all.

Receiving the delegation from Nigeria, ExxonMobil Upstream President, Liam Mallon and the Corporation's Senior Vice President, Deepwater, Hunter Farris, in their separate remarks, commended the sustained partnership of the Nigerian Government with ExxonMobil in the last five decades, adding that such business relationship has yielded remarkable rewards, especially in the areas of employment, revenue generation, hydrocarbon development and keeps Nigeria in the league of the world's top energy provider nations of the 21st century.

The President spoke of ExxonMobil's massive investments in Nigeria and reiterated the position statement that ExxonMobil is in Nigeria for the long haul.

The international engagement was led by the Chairman, ExxonMobil Subsidiaries in Nigeria, Paul McGrath and included the Company's Executive Vice Chairman, Mr. Udom Inoyo as well as its Media and Communications Manager, Ogechukwu Udeagha.

ExxonMobil is one of the world's largest publicly traded energy providers and chemical manufacturers that develops and applies next-generation technologies to help safely and responsibly meet the world's growing energy needs. It is a global hydrocarbon leader in almost every aspect of the energy solution business and operates facilities all over the world, with oil and natural gas exploration activities on six continents.

The wailers and zombies will soon be here

As for me, Nigeria must get off oil to be developed. Any government or person that does not advocate for the industrial development of Nigeria is not serious.
