The Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan might have to start paying their security personnel as the Canadian government announced that it will no longer pay for their security protection when their royal status is dissolve in few weeks time.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced that they would move to Canada after stepping down as senior royals, it came as a question of concern for the Canadians as who would now pay for their heavy security bills.

The Canadian minister of public safety, Bill Blair came out and said that since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were on the list of Internationally Protected Persons, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be working with London's Metropolitan Police to provide protection for the couple.

"As the Duke and Duchess are currently recognized as Internationally Protected Persons, Canada has an obligation to provide security assistance on an as-needed basis," he said.

However, in view of the statement released by Buckingham Palace few weeks ago, that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would formally be stepping down as senior royals on March 31st, 2020.

Which implies that they would no longer be entitled to the royal protocols and taxpayer’s money.
