Christians live and die dependent on God's grace. Salvation is God's gift and can never be earned.

Ephesians 2:8-9 "8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.. The most important thing in life is the following:

Forgiveness
A right relationship with God
Acceptance into God's family as his child
Eternal life
Spiritual understanding
The transforming power of the Holy Spirit
The promise of God's blessing now and forever

These are all gifts of God for those he has chosen and made his own by his grace. There is nothing we can do to get these things for ourselves. NOTHING

Romans 14:7-9
7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

Christians are to look to God for guidance and seek to honor him in ALL THINGS. Because we are ultimately accountable to him, our desire should always be to please him, and not ourselves. Gospel truth!

Joy and thanksgiving are the appropriate response to God's grace. Everything in this life and the next hangs on grace. Without God's grace, we would be "WITHOUT GOD AND WITHOUT HOPE"

CONCLUSION

This why Apostle Paul begins and ends his letters with a prayer that God's people would have his "GRACE AND PEACE". Both very important for our spiritual wellbeing.

Ephesians 1:2
2Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 6:22-24
22Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts. 23Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 24Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
