Lobi Stars Football Club players’ bus was gutted down by fire on Monday night on their way back from Ilorin Kwara State after MatchDay 22 clash with Kwara United. 10-man Lobi Stars had beaten Kwara United 1-0 in Ilorin and were on their way back to Makurdi when the ugly incident happened before Adaka Village on Naka Road, few kilometers to the Benue State capital. According to a statement signed by a spokesperson of the club, Austin Tyowua, the incident occurred as a result of an auto electrical fault that sparked up the fire and the vehicle went up in flames just as all attempts to quell the uncontrollable fire proved abortive. “Though no life was lost, there were colossal losses in property as all the contents of the vehicle were burnt.”
