Mugabe Must Go by initiator(m): 9:18pm On Jun 03, 2007 |
I saw the picture of a brutalised zimbabwean opposition woman yesterday on CNN. Her backside area was burnt with iron and and a chip of her ear was cut off. Scenes of police men brutalising opposition supporters with was also prevalent. It's a pity that what started as mugabe's quest to reclaim land from white people has degenerated into crass brutality, banning foreign media and the highest inflationary rate in the world. African leaders like mbeki must start telling their fellow leaders the truth and even impose sanctions on beasts like mugabe. We mustnt wait for western countries like the UK to tell admonish our leaders. Mugabe should just GO!!! |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by chidichris(m): 10:31pm On Jun 03, 2007 |
the earlier we beging to understand that the death rate in iraq has a brother in africa which has been for years without anyone complaining. mugabe is evil. african leaders must do something to get him ou of the seat. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by initiator(m): 9:45am On Jun 04, 2007 |
It's about time a moral powerful circle of african countries seperate themselves from the multitude with despotic father figures like mugabe. These moral minority should begin to admonish and sanction countries like zimbabwe and sudan. African brotherhood/solidarity sentiments should be replaced african standards. The moral burden of bullying bully governments like mugabe's falls on nigeria and south africa but unfortunately naija has a credibility problem with its fraudulent elections while mbeki continues an annoying 'quiet diplomacy' policy. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by Afam(m): 11:08am On Jun 04, 2007 |
And why must Mugabe go? Because he has refused to do the bidding of the West or what? If Zimbabwe has the highest inflation rate in the world and everything isn't working in that country where is the opposition getting money from? They pick money from trees or get funds from the West that support them in the hope that when they win they will pay back the West by giving the lands and other resources back to the West? When did the West realize that Mugabe was a bad person? Until Bliar stepped in Zimbabwe was about the most beautiful place in Africa so what went wrong? Unfortunately, a lot of us have allowed the media to completely brainwash us to the point that we cannot even think without letting the media think for us. Someone stated that Mugabe is evil and yet will be willing to lay down his life for Bush that has killed more innocent people in the world today (maybe only Hilter is still leading Bush in this regard), such is the level that some have gone down to all in the name of using a discussion forum. |

initiator: The credibility of CNN stories are always questionable. By the way, they are the propaganda specialists. Iron marks on the backside means what? We will never know how true the story is. Half truth is the same as half lie. We know how badly the english fans were brutalised in the football match in Rome. I think we all need to start blaming the leader of that country too. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by angel101(f): 11:25am On Jun 04, 2007 |
Come on guys, we have seen repeatedly the brutalization of Mugabe's political opponents who happen to be people of zimbabwe who ordinarily should have equal rights! Y dont we forget about all this conspiracy theories and recognise black for black and wrong for wrong! |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by angel101(f): 11:27am On Jun 04, 2007 |
stranger12: Are u by any chance suggesting that CNN may have doctored the images aired? That is just a little too far fetched my brother. stranger12: I cannot understand how u can even compare both senarios. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by denex: 11:33am On Jun 04, 2007 |
There are a lot of leaders of old that fought for the betterment of their people. President Robert Mugabe is one of those great men. Fidel Castro is one too and Maummar Ghaddafi is another. History will always remember them for what they achieved. Notwithstanding, they have far outlived their relevance to life to life in the second millenium. All of them, including Hosni Mubarak, should leave this generation alone. They feel they are out to do good but what they do not realise is that the ills they stood up against and the imperialist powers they fought against have long disappeared. They are not even currently in tune with the wishes and aspirations of the youth and middle aged right now. I love them all and will continue to respect them for what they achieved at the beginning of their rule, but right now, they should just hold their breaths and die! Wetin sef? How person go be president for more than 20 years? Na knighthood abi chieftaincy title? Maltreat or no maltreat, make them just go die. Well, some of the major countries in the AU took on conflicts to resolve in their region. Nigeria took on the Liberian matter, Ethiopia took on the Somali crises, wetin South Africa and Egypt dey look? Then there's the problem of foreign countries trying to start civil war in Zimbabwe. Like Australia promising 15million to opposition. That'll only be good to buy weapons and start killing each other for the next 23 years. That's plain wrong. In this modern world, we can't use violence as the answer. I would have suggested pressuring Yar'Adua to take action, but Yar'Adua himself has already stated clearly during his swearing in that he won't operate a very strong foreign policy. So I suppose the buck stops with Thabo Mbeki. I'll support AFAM in saying that the western governments are using their media to "explode" issues out of proportion. I'm not saying Mugabe is bad, my own point is that anybody who started ruling a country more than 20 years ago should go! How can one man claim monopoly of leadership skills for more than 20 years? Abeg they should all just die. Obasanjo ruled, and left and came back 20 years later, and then ruled a second term, and then handed over. Still some of these men are still there. Small pickin don grow to a mature married man with kids, all his life knowing just one president. Abeg, Mugabe must go! |

Re: Mugabe Must Go by initiator(m): 4:17pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
I'm sick and surprised at some of the comments of the likes of Afam. In an age where Africa contributes just about 2.5% to the global GDP, Africans should start nursing impatience for underperforming leaders not to talk of obsolate and jaundiced ones like Mugabe. If he enjoys popular support why suppress opposition? I wonder when CNN has turned into 21st century studio to start concorting the images of brutalised women and opposition supporters. If Mugabe's land transfer programme has worked why is the price of stapple foods skyrocketting? Mugabe has missedthe opportunity of Mandela's valour by simply playing the statesman. He has turned into an overgrown thug, plunging his nation into the abyss of economic depression. Whether western media bias or not the question are straight: are opposition members hounded in jail (irrespective of wherethey gettheir fund or not?), is the local opposition media suppressedand censored? is the level of inflation according to World bank reports the highest in the world or not?the only thing i agrree with afamon is that zimbabwe is a beautiful country. but then so is sweet honey associated with ugly bee. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by Afam(m): 4:36pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
You have asked so many questions which in reality would have simplified your wahala if you knew the answers and as such you wouldn't need to be sick and surprised at some of the comments of the likes of Afam. On the contrary the likes of Afam should be the one sick and surprised at the level of ignorance some of you display here but we have chosen not to be sick, instead we have decided to knock you guys out of the brain washed state that the Western media has panel beaten your likes into. You need not agree with me that Zimbabwe is a beautiful country because I believe it was beautiful then, I don't know about now when the West has effectively conspired to turn Zimbabwe into what it is today because Mugabe stopped taking instructions from 10 Downing Street and the White House. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by beambally: 4:50pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
make we find solution to our problem first, before we shook mouth for other countrys problem. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by denex: 4:59pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
@doncartel, You're even underplaying the matter: Even if Mugabe can solve all the problems of Zimbabwe before the end of this year, he should just leave. @initiator, CNN is very much willing and able to concoct videos. The one for which one Niger-Delta militant sent CNN a mail to come and interview him nko? They sent Jeff Koinange to come down to Nigeria and interview the guy. Days later, Jeff submits the video at Headquarters, only for the militant to remind them that he's still waiting for their interview, through his same email, yet CNN paraded a home video on their station claiming it was the interview. Well, I'm not claiming CNN has the capacity to produce Hollywood type blockbuster movies, But definitely they are more than proficient at releasing Nollywood homevideos. But still sha, arranged video or genuine video, MUGABE MUST GO! I'm sorry for saying he should die. Please God, don't let him die because his son will surely inherit the title. So let him just go. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by Johnny(m): 5:17pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
And why must Mugabe go? Because he has refused to do the bidding of the West or what? This's about Mugabe and Zimbabweans and NOT THE WESTERN WORLD. For God's sake, don't morality and conscience demand that Mugabe's time is up? This man has inflicted alot of injuries on Zimbabweans and the Zimbabwe economy, and somebody's saying the West is after him. He doesn't want to do the West's bidding and now he has impoverished the masses to a state of used tissue paper. What are we talking about? MUGABE IS EVILOUS PLEASE. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by Tornadoz(m): 5:28pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
We only started screaming Mugabe must go since he seized those lands that were taken by white farmers. How could the whites in Zimbabwe who make up less than 5% of the population have over 50% of the lush and fertile plains of Zimbabwe?. I may not like Mugabe, but many African presidents are in no way managing their economy better than Mugabe. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by initiator(m): 9:58pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
I wonder why the crisis in zimbabwe would be reduced to a western media gimmick. Afam should face the army of economically displaced zimbabweans drifting into s/a. The other guy mentioned the redistribution of 50% of the country's lush land from the 5% white minority. So much for redistribution ended up in the hands of inefficient black members of the ruling ZANU PF party. Is it only mugabe that has done land redistribution? Mbeki did it in south africa gradually and peacefully. Why is mugabe's own different? |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by naijaway(m): 10:34pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
mugabe is going with tradition na, if they say abolish traditional rulers people say it is traditon. That guy plans to turn zimbabwe's presidency to a heredity constitution just like mubarak and co. If Nigeria was settled we should have gone there and thwarted his rule. Very crazy individual. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by MILITIA(f): 10:52pm On Jun 04, 2007 |
beambally thank you oh! Have you ever seen where one goes to put out fire in the neighbour's compound while his wife and children are being consumed by flames in his own hut? Like we are better off than Mugabe? |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by denex: 12:06am On Jun 05, 2007 |
It is true that the west is after Mugabe. Only recently, Australia too announced publicly that it is contributing $15 million towards helping the opposition topple Mugabe's government. However, all this is secondary to the fact that a man that took the mantle of leadership on the 14 of March 1980 (when I was preparing for my first birthday) should still be ruling by now whith no clear end in sight? Oh, I meant with no end in sight? Maybe Obasanjo should have ticked of the west so they will be after him. Maybe he would have secured victory for his 3rd term. I repeat, MUGABE MUST GO! West is after him, East is in front of him, white farmers hate him O, black poultry like him O, MUGABE MUST GO! I think the statement is even too mild. MUGABE MUST GO NOW! We will make sure this man is not in government by 2008. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by doncartel: 12:51am On Jun 05, 2007 |
MILITIA: but still in the global village of today all countries advise themselves and work together for the development of world society as envisaged by the creation of the united nations after the second world war.the aim is to stop all poverty and suffering.isnt that good? every country is concerned about other countries in various sectors.you could see the international outcry at nigeria's recent election from many countries that have several problems of their own.with thousands of american deaths in iraq, they are still pocknosing everywhere in the world.it is in that spirit that everyone should be cocerned about zimbabwe |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by initiator(m): 12:26pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
Just check out this picture of the opposition leader in Zimbabwe. Imagine Obasanjo sending police men to beat up Buhari like this.

Re: Mugabe Must Go by Iman3(m): 2:53pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
initiator: They will tell you its doctored, that he is an agent of the West.Meanwhile the Zimbabwean people are starving. Many of these same people will not tolerate OBJ staying more than 8 years in power but they see no reason to object to Mugabe's continued hold on power |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by denex: 3:22pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
Those that argued earlier up the string that the west is after Mugabe etc, the simple question you should try to answer is: Must Mugabe not go? End of story. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by MILITIA(f): 10:23pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
LOL At least the opposition leader has mouth to talk about his travails! Bola Ige, Williams, Daramola and the others killed by various political factions in Nigeria are six feet under. Yes the world is a global village but CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME! Remove thy log-------------------------------Since we are so concerned, I think we should send mercenaries from Nigeria to remove Mugabe! |

Re: Mugabe Must Go by Nobody: 11:40pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
MAMAJAMA & MILITIA: this parable below is for the benefit of you guys. We're supposed to be our African brothers' keepers, since the West hasnt done anything but pass hypocritical judgement (since Somalia '93) May we never experience these national emergencies again in this country. A rat looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. What food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a rat trap. Retreating to the barnyard the rat proclaimed the warning; "There's a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said,"Excuse me, Mr. Rat, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it." The rat turned to the pig and told him, "There's a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!" "I am so very sorry Mr. Rat," sympathized the pig, "but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers." The rat turned to the cow. She said, "Like wow, Mr. Rat. A rat trap. I am in grave danger. Duh?" So the rat returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's rat trap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a rat trap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. She returned home with a fever. Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the barnyard for the soup's main ingredient. His wife's sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well. She died, and so many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide meat for all of them to eat. So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when there is a rat trap in the house, the whole barnyard's at risk. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by MILITIA(f): 11:51pm On Jun 05, 2007 |
Thanks ziddy! At least the rat, pig, farmer, and cow are still alive abi? I think they did not even catch the snake that caused all the wahala! We should help our neighbours I agree. Not if our problems are worse than theirs! Are we better off than our neighbours? I do not think so. We are worse off than some of them so let us tidy up our backyard first! |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by redsun(m): 12:48am On Jun 09, 2007 |
Mugabe is about the only leader right now in africa with a vision, what he is attemting is fundamental and new,it is gonna take some time and sacrifices for it to take shape, the people got to learn to walk first before they run.Staying in a comfort zone is only good for a short run not for a long run.The land belongs to the people, they got to learn to use it,mistakes are gonna be made but that is the only way they can learn,i wish they can be smarter. |
Re: Mugabe Must Go by Biafralord(m): 10:44pm On Jun 10, 2007 |
I support Mugabe. He is the only leader in Africa that has openly rejected the so called white masters. Keep it up!!! Mugabe is THE Haile Selassie 2 of Africa

Re: Mugabe Must Go by Afam(m): 9:43am On Jun 11, 2007 |
redsun: Tell them. The man is being condemned for attempting to right the wrong done by the whites that killed and seized the lands of Africans. If it takes a man of 100 years to achieve this great feat then so be it. The issue here is the injustices he is trying to address not the opposition being supported by extremist whites in Australia that killed and equally seized the lands of the original inhabitants of the Australia (aborigins). |
