Honestly the piracy and sea robbery situation is too much. Some people like to pretend everything is about marginalization ignoring factors like this hurting business. These same groups also steal and assault local fishers. Most businesses pay 50-100k extra when alternative port is available. The oil companies are willing since they have to. The Nigerian navy and state government should route these guys out. These same low lives will eventually start causing trouble for ibom deep seaport in the future. It dumb to invest in new ports and secure martime domain. Front page: Lalasticlala 3 Likes 2 Shares |

“Why should a resident of Port Harcourt make the Lagos port is port of destination? The answer is simple: the channels leading to the Port Harcourt port are not safe. Bonny channel is worse. If you cannot pay at least, $80,000 It's going to interesting to see the port stats for 2019. There's numbers will tell us if NPA's policies have made big difference to traffic there. It's clear most of these pirates opperate out of rivers. I speculate they're also involved in other criminal activity like pipeline vandalism and smuggling. |

I am sure his predecessor didn’t get a second term because the incessant attacks on vessels coming to Nigeria’s eastern ports were becoming unbearable for the Presidency, and that contributed partly to our loss of IMO Category C election. That would be interesting. I remember reading story suggesting nigeria lost IMO seat over border closure. |

hammerU: In order to make the new deep seaport sucessful piracy in the ND region must be tackled. You should be addressing Buhari to fund the navy better but your concern is about imaginary enemies. It's pretty pathetic you cant figure this out by yourself. 2 Likes

Anambralstson: Thats not what the liar Obiano claimed. Lol why are you suddenly shifting the goalposts. It was 4th largest in Nigeria at first. Chief Willie Obiano has said that without the determination of his team, the state would not have become Nigeria’s fourth largest economy, noting that he inherited a state with an average ambition. 1 Like |

Blue3k:Bro can't u see piracy even occurs in Lagos than warri from that map ...if piracy is stopping port Harcourt port what of warri So we don't have enough navy again I blame Niger deltans ...the day they stand up thats the day Nigeria go get sense |
Re: Eastern Ports Insecurity: NIMASA Urged To Tackle Rising Cost Of Armed Guards by Blue3k(m): 7:08pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
mrvitalis: I never said it doesn't happen in Lagos. You clearly see it's more prominent along ND side. This is the main reason price of guards is more expensive. Delta port isn't that deep compared to Onne. No the Navy's efforts are not sufficient. The gulf of Guinea ais very dangerous. Crews get kidnapped all the time in nigerian waters. That's why more funds should be allocated to them. I blsme the FG for not doing enough to combat the menace. 1 Like |

Re: Eastern Ports Insecurity: NIMASA Urged To Tackle Rising Cost Of Armed Guards by Blue3k(m): 7:19pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
mrvitalis: There's clearly more incidents on the ND side. Download the report and count the number of incidents yourself. hammerU: Lying must be part of your culture. There's piracy in sea robbery in both states. Akwa Ibom definitely needs to get the issue solved since they're investing in a deep seaport. 1 Like

Ritchiee: This aight it chief you're posting fake stats. Abuja had a higher GDP than Akwa Ibom in 2017 then it's suddenly half it's GDP in 2018. If you're interested in finding real GDP just do the math. Real GDP is inflation adjusted GDP. 1 Like |
