Bismillaah ir Rahmaan ir Rahiim In The Name of Allah, The Only GOD, The Most Merciful, The All Merciful. As salaamu 'alaikum; The peace be upon you, everyone.

According to the gospel of Barnabas, Prophet 'Isa [Jesus, PBUH] was seven (7) years of age when Herod the greater died in 4 B.C.E. 'Isa PBUH would then have been born in 11 B.C.E. (Before Common Era). ("late September or early October; when dates ripen in the Middle East to the point of falling off the tree," According to Rashad Khalifa's "An Authorized English Version of Qur'an." See: 19:25)

When Herod was dead, behold the angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph, saying: 'Return into Judaea, for they are dead that willed the death of the child.' Joseph therefore took the child with Mary (he having come to the age of seven years), and came to Judaea; whence, hearing that Archelaus, son of Herod, was reigning in Judaea, he went into Galilee, fearing to remain in Judaea; and they went to dwell at Nazareth. The child grew in grace and wisdom before God and before men.

Jesus, having come to the age of twelve years, went up with Mary and Joseph to Jerusalem, to worship there according to the law of the Lord written in the book of Moses. When their prayers were ended they departed, having lost Jesus, because they thought that he was returned home with their kinsfolk. Mary therefore returned with Joseph to Jerusalem, seeking Jesus among kinsfolk and neighbours. The third day they found the child in the temple, in the midst of the doctors, disputing with them concerning the law. And every one was amazed at his questions and answers, saying: "How can there be such doctrine in him, seeing he is so small and hath not learned to read?'

Mary reproved him, saying: 'Son, what hast thou done to us? Behold I and thy father have sought thee for three days sorrowing.' Jesus answered: 'Know ye not that the service of God ought to come before father and mother?' Jesus then went down with his mother and Joseph to Nazareth, and was subject to them with humility and reverence
. Chapter 9  Gospel of Barnabas

019.022 So she conceived him, and she retired with him to a remote place.

019.023 And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree: She cried (in her anguish): "Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten and out of sight!"

019.024 But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): "Grieve not! for thy Lord hath provided a rivulet beneath thee;

019.025 "And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee.

019.026 "So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, 'I have vowed a fast to (God) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being'"

If the Trumpet Sounds an Indistinct Call”
“God is a God, not of disorder, but of peace,” wrote the apostle Paul, in correcting the disorderliness of the congregation in ancient Corinth. In the same context, he asked: “If the trumpet sounds an indistinct call, who will get ready for battle?” (1 Corinthians 14:8, 33) Now, if a God of order intended to have Christians celebrate the birth of his Son on the earth, would He leave it to imperfect men to choose arbitrarily a date from pagan festivals and to adopt ungodly practices?

It doesn't give the actual date. Doing the math, Prophet 'Isa [Jesus, PBUH] would have been 12 years old in 2 AD [so He, PBUH was born about 11 B.C.E. or, Before Common Era]. See post below, for more details.

It doesn't give the actual date, you will have to do the math yourself. Prophet 'Isa [Jesus, PBUH] would have been 12 years old in 2 AD [C.E. or, Common Era].

If you adopted a child whose Date of Birth you do not know, would you refuse to set aside a day for his birthday if your biological children have a party for their birthday every year? Since 'Barnabas' does not give you a date of birth for Jesus Christ, Xtians are happy to celebrate his birth on the DAY SET ASIDE - 25th of December. It doesn't matter whether the date was originally the date for worshipping Shango, we know WHAT EXACTLY we are celebrating on the 25th of December, and it is THE BIRTH OF THE SAVIOUR OF MANKIND!
