emperorlaqrin: My bros eh, just leave Obasa and try to check the profile of the APC guy from my area: Bisi Yusuf... That guy's case is worse, I live close to his house at Onimaalu and you should see how bad his street is. Guy comes home and mopols condone off the whole street, then leaves. I wish Mr Tinubu can reason their matter a little. Same way you'll only hear about YAYI when it's election time |

It is shocking how colonial mentality pervades our society. A Yoruba legislator in Yoruba land, all some dunces can talk about is his English How many Chinese legislators speak English? |

Re: Pressure Mounts On Obasa To Step Down As Speaker by 9jaRealist: 7:26pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
nairavsdollars: Please don’t mind our people and their LOW BOTTOM-SCRAPPING standards... Blathering on about Yoruba language, when the Assembly deliberations (and laws) are in English. Speaking of bottom-scrapping... One suspects that in reality his single most important qualification is scrapping ass at Bourdillon. > |
Re: Pressure Mounts On Obasa To Step Down As Speaker by 9jaRealist: 7:35pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
0m0nnakoda: If you are confused why you were quoted... Then it’s easy to understand why you are defending Obasa! The daily deliberations of the Assembly is in ENGLISH... The laws, rules and regulations governing the Assembly is in ENGLISH. The reports (and even hearings) of the Assembly are in ENGLISH... The resolutions, bills and/or laws enacted by the Assembly is in ENGLISH. Even a single word in a law can make all the difference... So his Yoruba mastery is IRRELEVANT to the competent functions of his office. > |

9jaRealist: That is why I don't mix with riffraffs. Legislators are not draftsmen. THAT is a technical job for lawyers who receive specific training to perform that TECHNICAL task You are here championing English which you scarcely comprehend. Where did I DEFEND Obasa? FROM what exactly. I am solidly behind any person who speaks Yoruba fluently to be a legislator in Lagos. Quite how that translates into a defence of Obasa eludes me. The reality is your grasp of English is atrocious and you should spend your neurotic energies improving that since it is ,to you , a mark of accomplishment and distinction. Once again legislators are not legal draftsmen and don't have to be. Their job is to agree on a legislative objectives and direction while the draftsman fleshes it out There is nothing in the constitution saying laws cannot be enacted in Yoruba. That is where we are heading |
Re: Pressure Mounts On Obasa To Step Down As Speaker by 9jaRealist: 8:04pm On Mar 16, 2020 |
0m0nnakoda: You mean like Obasa?! Btw, it’s “riff raff”.... Both singular and plural are the same. Meanwhile, draftsmen do NOT conduct Assembly deliberations... Neither do they conduct hearings nor pass Assembly resolutions. Even laws drafted by draftsmen still has to be completely understood/explainable by legislators... Sadly, that’s why in Nigeria a whole Police IG was stumbling over “transmission” in a written speech! SMH > |

0m0nnakoda:it's not an insults but it's a shame that you don't know that Yoruba is not our common language but you choose to support that.. it's only at the constituency of obasa that I found myself giving your money so as not to lose my phone. 1 Like |

Oladayo12: oluwaseyi000: datola: Not a measure of intelligence... But a measure of capacity to competently do his job. The daily deliberations of the Assembly are conducted in ENGLISH... The laws, rules and regulations governing the Assembly are in ENGLISH. The reports (and even hearings) of the Assembly are in ENGLISH... 0m0nnakoda: Can you call your own father or mother a “riff raff”?! Frankly, I usually ignore folks like you who resort to personal insults/attacks... It merely betrays a lack of substance and most often a crude family upbringing. > |
