These people have no sense.

The government should not reduce the petrol price. Instead it should keep the unexpected profits and channel it into any of the critical areas like power, health, education or the fight against Boko Haram.

Why is this APC government so useless ?
which profit is that?

The price of crude oil fell more than 50%, so why just a mere 10% reduction?

This is a policy that will definitely affect the poor negatively and benefit the rich positively.

Reducing the price of Fuel will not make prices of other commodities that are dependent on fuel to reduce. Public transport fare will not reduce as this is where the poor masses will majorly benefit from, prices of goods in the market will not reduce either as traders will tell you they paid high on cost of transportation due to bad roads and other environmental forces.
How much fuel do you think the poor and average Nigerians use per day?
How many of them have a car, Generator and the fund to buy more fuel into them?

The rich will buy more fuel as the price reduces because they have more than 1 car and generator set, they will keep buying more goods as the high cost of living doesn't affect them like the poor.
Note That prices hardly get reduced in Nigeria no matter the strategy used, after the era of Covid-19 and the world economy begins to boom back to life, and the price of crude begins to rise, FG will increase the price of fuel to more than N145 it was before and the common Nigerians will increase both transport, food and other basic commodities even when they never reduced the prices before.

Guess what More suffering for the poor masses.

ikorodureporta:

Reducing the price in Nigeria will not change anything. Instead, the prices of commodities will go up if there's a future increase from d reduced price

The govt shl look into the prices of deregulated products instead

They only reduce the price temporarily just wait and see if the price will not go up again in few months.
