This is a very sensitive topic because i know alot of emotions would be flared... Dont get me wrong, if i get female children I'll be happy.. 3 boys 1 girl is perfect for me... but in a situation where all my kids are girls.. i dont pray for it, no offense to anyone... The reason why ? Its all because first of all, you have a family legacy like most family, you own a surname, your business, all you worked for probably 30 years +... when you dont have male kids, how do you give all that to a woman?.. this isn't misogyny, this is reality... Some times we let our emotions get the better of us and we don't think well... the reason why i wouldnt put my familys heirloom in my daughters hands is because. 1 a womans main aim is to get married, and thats what I'll want for my daughter... so when she gets married and bears someone's name... the family's legacy is shifted automatically to another family.. just like that... 2. Women aren't built to run businesses, women have failed more in running businesses... I saw a video if daddy freeze where he said why should men care about thier legacy, even poor men shouldn't care... listen legacy isn't all about wealth.. its a whole lineage.... so a family with the surname "chukwuka" that has existsd for over 200 years... because you're woke, the family name is erased because of a mans foolishness in not striving to concieve a male child?... this seems so archaic but its an everlasting reality . Daddy freeze also referenced an igbo tradition that keeps the eldesr daughter of an old man with no male kids... his daughter will meet with another man while in her fathers house.. conceive.. just so the family concieve male kids.... the man who got the woman pregnant cant claim the baby as it is tradition... You might say its achaic but how is it different feom what is practised in the brittish monarchy.. queen elizabeths father had no male kids... she wasnt supposed to be on the throne... she was supposed to be married to another royal family.... but since the heirloom and throne must continue she took the seat.. a man came into the house, they had kids... her kids bears her fathers name instead of her husbands name... This is how they keep the throne in the family.. but because they are white, no one says anything... Personally if i dont have male kids.. i rather adopt one, give him my name.. than give the heirloom to daughtera who would marry someone else, thereby changing names... Kennedyiheme02: So this is what you are thinking while we are in coronavirus season 1? No one cares bro. If you don't know how to select the gender of a child before birth, then all your long talk is wasted 8 Likes |

Kennedyiheme02: In the Igbo tradition, the daughters inherit properties too but from their mother. Be it land or spoon so long as it's in the woman's name. |

After you die you go know of legacy who your legacy or surname help after all Osama bin laden's son has kept to his fathers legacy and became a terrorist also shebi na girl him be. Men like Bill Clinton Obama and other powerful men who have only daughters will forever havnba legacy the world will respect and admire not the one an underbridge ekuke has that even his children will not even see any legacy to uphold in the first place.Who your legacy help how many son's have truly lived up to or consolidated their father's own legacy. 5 Likes 1 Share |

In some latin American countries some people even make use of their own mother's surnames. Is the surname 'chukwuka' your name so why so bothered about it?The person that first bore that name did the person tell you to beae it for eternuty who the name help. Do you think that all over the world it is only through fathers that children get their surnames some get through the mother's if you nor know. Cave man enter your bush back. Women are not failures in business the average market woman that feeds and fends for her family is no failure in business. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I would rather have daughters though. I have always loved girl children. Boys are just too much work. Even raising my daughter from birth was the best time of my life. I need more daughters. Besides, daughters carry your genes no matter what. Sons just carry your name and can be conned into raising another man's child. No thanks. As for family wealth? Doesn't matter. I raise all my daughters to be gold diggers. 10 Likes |

Kennedyiheme02: No I love being a woman. My gender does not matter because my purpose is not tied to my gender where I will be so useless to think that my only usefulness in life is to answer someone's name for a hundred years instead of creating my own name and building my own legacy.I am not that useless thank you.In today's world that does not matter do what standsout and you will be recognised not by answering Chukwuka the name of someone that died and knows nothing of my existence |

Kennedyiheme02:Funny enough I don't answer my family name but my father's own direct first name. So the surname is his and his sons can get rid of it and tell their children to answer their own first names as well. |

Kennedyiheme02:Why the fuss about her name I answer her own join. In this part of the world it is a patriarchal society and though not common especially when the woman is not married the children take her surname even here in Africa but abroad in some parts married or not the kids bear mommy and daddy's surname Who surname help |
