CoronaVirusRelo: Democracy was invented so people like President Buhari won't have absolute power. You would have been in a queue for a visa to South Sudan by now. |

oglalasioux: False! Democracy decimated powers and influences. The president controls all. With regards to the Nigeria, Democracy is a sub military rule. The president has every other arm in his pocket. You don't dance, you get implicated and robed with an allegation. Every institution under democracy is a looting machine. |

CoronaVirusRelo: This is the talk that got you Buhari. It's unfortunate that Nigerians believe they deserve better but actively invite and welcome brutality and impunity into their lives. |

OruExpress: Where has democracy gotten us to over the years. As it stands today, Democracy as not achieved a quarter of what the military achieved. The discipline and law and order was too notch. What did democracy give you, religious and ethnic divisions, looting spree and outright lawlessness. Bring both to the table with valid points. Democracy can never stand on same podium with military rule. Some to think of it, democracy in Nigeria contest is still sub military rule. The ruling party lo let's all and influences with it once the cake goes round. 1 Like |

CoronaVirusRelo: Well if you list the things you think work about Nigeria, and the things you don't think work about Nigeria. I promise you all of the things that don't work are from a lack of democracy. Russia is called 'Nigeria with Snow' and is the worst possible example of how to run a country in Europe. It's a deeply impoverished country where citizens aren't comfortable and are sneaking into other countries like Germany, the UK and Denmark. Countries with healthy democracies. If the democracy in Nigeria is military sub rule (like Russia), then then the issue is the military sub rule, not the democracy it's self. Also, do you think people were not looting during the military regimes? Please think because this is the talk many used to hoist Buhari on us. 1 Like |

OruExpress: And is Russia and Nigeria on this page as of date. Same Russia Nigerians are running to on weekly basis. Their was massive looting under the military but it existed among top military cabals. What do we have now, high tech massive looting with nothing to show for it. If it might interest you, what runs Nigeria today still remains the infrastructure, foundation and ideas of the military. Sanity was a norm among citizens unlike what we have now where 9 out of 10 is insane. I will say it again, democracy might have worked in many nations but in Nigeria, it was a bigger curse. It was a platform to share our sovereign wealth to all that cares. What does it breed? Division, political Religious groups, militants and terrorist. The sub military rule we call democracy is a sham. It's a glaring fact. |

CoronaVirusRelo: Nigerians are also rushing to Libya and Somalia. I remember the death of a Nigerian announced during Bush's bombing campaign in Afghanistan. If you go to Congo you will see more Nigerians than any other nationality. Again, list what was good and bad about the current government and you will see that democracy gets an unfair name. I think frustration makes people impatient with their situation and, if they're lazy, they become easy to manipulate away from what they have. We were frustrated with Jonathan despite obvious (slow) progress. We believed that his functional elections were signs of weakness and that we need an dictator to straighten things out and bring order. We not only have a dictator right now, but we also have the order a dictatorship brings (don't talk about the government, submit to the dominate ethnic group, if you don't comply you die). dictatorship led us into the worst genocide on the african continent, and the corruption we know today. If the military takes over, or we get rid of the curse of democracy, who will be in charge and what have they shown you that is better than what you have? The military is not a democracy, but it is still corrupt as it was then. Do you believe this man is something Buhari is not? |
Re: If Nigeria Was Governed By Russia President? What Will Be Your Take On This! by OruExpress: 6:39pm On Mar 22, 2020 |
Or maybe Buhari needs to leave this democracy thing alone and go full dictator? Russia is a failure in comparison to it's peers in the region. But it's not Germany you want to aspire for, it's Russia because Putin gives you all of the loud media bombast that you confuse with leadership. We must be frank, Nigerians have gotten every form to government they have asked for. All because not matter the situation, we become emotional and start craving loud bombast and grandstanding to sooth our unstable and irrational emotion driven thinking. Then someone comes, puts on a suit, gives us the loud bombast (my opponent stole 60 billion, I had no shoes etc) and we fall for it. Currently, Sanusi is cooking up his own bombast with this local government conflict he's having. He even posted a video of him speaking to 'his people' with beethoven playing in the background. And it will work. And he will be worst than before because he has actually killed someone with his bare hands and has written articles on how Sharia law will work in Lagos. And we all know this. But our emotions and laziness makes us crave a savior, and con artists are the best as posing as saviors. When he does is own you will suffer but he is at least modern enough to put a different face on TV and to the international media, so you will suffer and have no hope of escaping it. Putin does the same. Russians are nothing in their country, but he's savvy enough to go in the media and grand-stand so that they suffer in silence. Be careful what you wish for because unfortunately we're connected and i've been along for the ride of this unfortunate mentality for too long. |

OruExpress: This not about Buhari or Jonathan. Am talking about the system we call democracy. The looting that went on in the system since the recent inception of democracy is next to none. Everything now is looting. Minister, councillor, Representative, Senator, youth leader e.t.c it's a free looting campaign. How many military Head of State are stupidly rich like an average Democratic Governor.. can you list any. A Nigerian first lady is fvckingly rich that she can afford anything. The military get things done with top notch quality. Unlike the substandard white elephant project democracy dishes out. Look at where we were coming from even though we were still complaining, and look at where we are in the last 20 years. What has been done? You only keep hearing how $16,000,000,000 and various huge amounts keep disappearing. There is no way you will convince me that Democracy has done well for us in Nigeria contest. It's an ATM machine without a pin code. The military used a pin. You needed order. 2 Likes |

'next to none' no numbers, no facts, no statistics, no evidence, no data, no research, no references, no examples, nothing. Just a big emotional phrase 'next to none'. If you want to emote about Nigeria write a poem or a song. But you cannot wish dictatorship on everyone because you're emotions are taking you for a ride. Again, this is how Buhari was hoisted on everyone. And yes I will say names because that's a part of presenting facts and evidence. The growth in Nigeria was obvious when Jonathan was behaving democratically. Unless you want to compare the ebola response under him (first country to eliminate it), to the covid response under buhari (nothing). But people came in with their loud, bombastic, emotional, fact-free assertions and here we are. 'this is the most corrupt government ever' 'this is the most corruption in the world' 'ihejirika is trying to do a genocide' They even, like children, started calling Buhari their father. People were drinking sewer water to celebrate his win. Now look. So instead of tracing our steps and seeing where we went wrong, we're back to explosive emotions and feels instead of facts and solutions. You want to get rid of democracy because Buhari is undemocratic. Who do you think will be the leader if Nigeria wasn't a democracy? Do you think our military is lined with out best minds? Again, Sanusi has began manipulating the emotional and childlike minds of Nigerians. If you don't know, democracy in Nigeria ended with Buhari winning. When Sanusi is in, not only will you suffer, but he will give you the suits and bombastic putin like behavior you need to calm your emotions. Then you will really be stuck because you're only survival instinct (sharing your emotions) will be irrelevant. |

Buhari is trying to establish order. The order is 1. Fulani supremacy 2. Southern/Christian inferiority 3. Build up the north and Niger republic in case Nigeria splits 4. Never let go of power within the ethnic oligarchy 5. re-settle fulanis being persecuted in west africa to Nigeria 6. Use Nigerians military funds and military personnel to support the elections of Fulanis across west africa (has used Nigeria to win 2 presidental seats so far). This is order. If you don't like it then asked the next question 'why did I scream for order without specifying what order i want', and you will find that your emotions blinded you from reasoning. People like you created this mess if you don't know. You're not new. |

victorian: Typical naive, brainless approach to issues. You only see the good side of dictatorship, conveniently forgetting the thousands killed and jailed for dissenting or writing articles against the dictator, or the massive corruption and inequality engendered by such authoritarian systems. Like babies asked to take a bath, you only wash your bellies. |

Olofin2: Buhari cant even say such. The cabals have held him in ransome. He has no control over Nigeria. He's just a figure head. Powers bigger than him has taken over his control as president. I can't wait for his regime to be over. Honestly I can't wait. |
