1. Coronavirus #COVID19 was first detected in China but has now spread to more than 190 countries & territories.

2. More than 109,000 people have recovered from the virus.

3. The virus has reported in more than 18,900 deaths.

4. The virus is typically spread during close contact and via respiratory droplets produced when people cough or sneeze.

5. STOP CREATING FEARS - Fear and anxiety about COVID-19 can cause people to avoid or reject others even though they are not at risk for spreading the virus.

6. The virus also spread when one touches a contaminated surface and then their face.

7. Common symptoms of the virus include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

8. Strategies for preventing transmission of the disease include overall GOOD PERSONAL HYGIENE, HAND WASHING, AVOIDING TOUCHING THE EYES, NOSE or MOUTH with UNWASHED HANDS, COUGHING/SNEEZING into a TISSUE and PUTTING the tissue directly into a DUSTBIN.

9. Social distancing measures are also recommended to prevent transmission.

10. The time between infection and symptom onset ranges from 1 to 14 days.

11. Efforts to prevent the virus spreading include travel restrictions, quarantines, curfews, event postponements and cancellations, and facility closures.

12. As of 20 March, more than 960 million children and other students were affected by temporary or indefinite government-mandated school closures.

13. The coronavirus outbreak has been attributed to several instances of supply shortages, stemming from: globally increased usage of equipment to fight the outbreaks, panic buying and disruption to factory and logistic operations.

14. Africa: As of 21 March, cases have been confirmed in all African nations except for Botswana, Burundi, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho , Malawi, Mali, São Tomé and Príncipe , Sierra Leone, South Sudan and the disputed states of Somaliland and Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.There have been no reported cases in the territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, but there have been suspected cases.

15. Asia: As of 21 March, cases have been reported in all Asian countries except for Tajikistan and Turkmenistan — while North Korea and Yemen have suspected cases. No cases have been reported in the disputed states Abkhazia, Republic of Artsakh , South Ossetia and external territories Christmas Island and Cocos (Keeling) Islands.

16. Europe: As of 24 March, there have been 200,000 confirmed cases and 10,400 deaths in Europe; out of these, 64,000 cases and 6,100 deaths were in Italy.

17. As of 21 March, cases have been reported in all North American countries except Saint Kitts and Nevis, and all North American territories except Anguilla, Bonaire , British Virgin Islands, Saba, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Sint Eustatius.

18. Oceania: Cases have been reported in all Oceanian sovereign states except Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia , Nauru,Palau , Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga , Tuvalu , and Vanuatu , and have not been reported in the associated states of Cook Islands and Niue . No cases have been reported in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville , Norfolk Island , Wallis and Futuna , Tokelau, Pitcairn Islands, American Samoa, and Northern Mariana Islands.

19. South America: As of 19 March, cases have been confirmed in all South American countries: Argentina , Brazil, Bolivia , Chile , Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname , Uruguay, Venezuela and the French overseas department of French Guiana. No cases have been reported in the Falkland Islands.

20. There is no vaccine for the new coronavirus right now. Scientists have already begun working on one, but developing a vaccine that is safe and effective in human beings will take many months.
