Lol if you talk of oppression and corruption, India is far worse than Nigeria. I've been there before, Mumbai (Bombay). I was surprised when I saw police harassing civilians just as it happens in naija, even worse. They also tell offenders to do frog jump after series of slaps. I almost thought I was still in Nigeria.

Global Perception of Corruption Index is your friend if you want to measure actual corruption.
As for police harrassment, report if they are bullying people. However, you can't do anything if police is punishing people for some crime or inappropriate act.
