As part of proactive measures in preventing and curtailing the spread of the corona virus pandemic in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State,The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. Chief Jite Brown (JP) today, Thursday 26/03/20 held closed meeting with Hoteliers, Bar owners in Udu as well as leadership of different Motor Parks.

The meeting which was held in his office at Otor-Udu Headquarters of Udu Local Government Council was to discuss the outbreak of recent corona virus also known as Covid-19 in the country. He said that the essence of the meeting was to brief them on the need to sensitize their customers/ passengers about the deadly virus and to seek the way forward in checkmating the spread of the virus.

The council boss advised the Hoteliers and Bar owners to stop public gatherings, ceremonies involving more than 20 persons for now, adding that they should always ensure that senitizers, Water and soap are made available for their customers. He also encouraged the leadership of the different Motor Parks to reduce numbers of passengers per vehicle.

Speaking further, the Udu Council Boss who disclosed that the State Government placed high premium on the lives of Deltans and would do all within it's power to ensure the safety of lives, told the group to disseminate the information gathered to their various parks, hotels and customers.
The chairman is scheduled to meet with other stakeholders on Monday 30/03/20 at Otor-Udu.

Responding, Chairman of Udu Hoteliers, Bar owners Association Mr Onojuvbevbo Stephen and Branch A Chairman of the Delta State Management Committee on Public Motor Parks/ Land Transportation system of goods and Passengers Hon. Comr. Festus Magege who lauded the Udu Council Chairman for the meeting, promised to adhere to all precautionary measures aimed at curbing the scourge.

Present at the meeting were. Hon Justice Iyasere Vice Chairman Udu Local Government Council, Dr Excel Okonofua HOD Health Udu Local Government, Mr Arubi HOD Environment, Hon Emmanuel Kpomalefe Supervisory Councillor for Health Udu, Hon Ernest Mereh Supervisory Councillor for Finance, Hon Lucky Jitokun Supervisory Councillor for Works among others.
