Coronavirus: Lawan, Gbajabiamila, Sanwo-Olu Yet To Undergo Test by hisexcellency34: 7:43am On Mar 31, 2020 |
Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos As Nigerians continue to battle the ravaging coronavirus pandemic, some prominent political office holders are yet to submit themselves for testing to determine their status. Some among these are Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State. President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo already submitted themselves to coronavirus test last week. Both results came out negative. However, it was a different case for Abba Kyari, the President’s Chief of Staff as he was positive to the virus. Other prominent Nigerians who have tested positive are Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Muhammed Babandede, and Francis Okiye, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly. When asked if the Senate President had undergone the test, his media aide, Ola Awoniyi, said he is not aware. However, a source close to the number three citizen said he is certain he has not done the test “since he has exhibited no symptoms”. Another source in the National Assembly also informed our correspondent that the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, is yet to submit himself for the test in order to determine his status. When contacted, Lanre Lasisi, media aide of the speaker asked our correspondent to send a text. He is yet to respond as at the time of going to press. Also on Monday, Gbenga Omotosho, Lagos State Commissioner for Information, said he is unsure if Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has gone for the coronavirus test to determine his status. It would be recalled that the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, had implored his fellow governors and all those who attended the Wednesday, March 18 NGF meeting to go for test. When asked if Governor Sanwo-Olu has also submitted himself for testing, Omotosho said he is unsure but added that other members of the Lagos State cabinet have done the test. “I don’t know if the governor has done the test. But I suspect so because every member of the cabinet has done it. I didn’t ask him if he has done it or not,” the commissioner said. Also speaking with Daily Independent, another aide of the governor said while he is uncertain if the governor has gone for the test or not, the governor has been going about his normal activities without showing any symptoms of the virus. “There is no cause for alarm. Don’t also forget that the first lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, is a first class medical practitioner. So, the first family in Lagos will not take lightly any medical issue at all especially a global pandemic like coronavirus”, he said. https://www.independent.ng/covid-19-lawan-gbajabiamila-sanwo-olu-yet-to-undergo-test/

only the elites go run test multiple times.. but poor masses must show they are about to die before being tested... Davido, without any symptoms, tested his whole generation even with his dog.. life's truly not fair.. I Just pray the cure is discovered early enough.. if not ehn, we in for some real big troubles and our great Men of God can't save us other than give motivational speeches.

The fact that they have no symptoms of Corona such as sneezing or coughing shouldn't stop them from doing the test. Even Makinde said he has no symptoms despite testing positive |

Abeg Sanwo Pontius Pilate should get tested ASAP. Am beginning to like the guy. Lagos still need him. The other 2 clowns should be bundled and quarantined immediately because the NASS is a major spreading point. |
