@OP your landlord is right while you are wrong.

A calendar year is January - December not January - Jamuary

If you paid rent in April 2019, you next rent will be in March 2020.

Birthdays are different for those using beer parlour logic above.

And by your classroom logic the next one will be in February 2021

My Landlord Is Intimidating Me And Wants To Evict Me Before My Rent Expires

I paid my house rent for one full year on 18/04/2019. My rent is due to expire on 17/04/2020.

But my Landlord is insisting it expired on 17/03/2020. Which is Eleven months. I have tried explaining to him but he wants to lock me out unless I pay immediately.

Please how do I get redress.

I had exactly the same problem with my landlord. He told me my rent is due a month before. I Just am dey laugh. I stayed my full rent period

Guy you are lucky I have a tenant his rent is due for over 6 months. He has refused to pay me. I have taken to the court of arbitration. The guy has refused to pay me. Guys what do I do. I am thinking of giving him a notice. After which i would remove the roof of the house if he refuses to leave the house.
Re: My Landlord Wants To Evict Me Before My Rent Expires by Nobody: 1:21pm On Apr 02, 2020
This is wrong. The guy's rent expires in April.
Count it like this: If he enters in April, then month starts country ng in May.
May- 1st Month
June - 2 Month
.
.
.
Feb - 10 months
March- 11 months
April - 12 month.

I guess common sense is not that common after all.

You are so crazy. Can't argue with you.

Maybe your unqualified teacher taught you in school that 11 months is equal to 1 year. That is particularly why you cannot comprehend well.

I now know why most of you fail interviews. You all forgot the dude's date starts counting April 19, how can his house rent be due before March when he is completing another month the next month. Guys use your sense.

Don’t mind the idiot, rent start counting from the day and month you make payment and it not the next month. I thinks his landlord is a fool so that he can scam him.

You don't hv to insult, if u still don't understand how it works, count 365days from 18/04/19 and see where it ends. It's as simple as that

I can guarantee that 100% of you all, that got the calculation wrong do not own commercial properties. All rental property owners are aware of this tricky calculation.

Guy settle with your landlord because he is right and you are wrong. What you are calculating is 13 months as rent starts counting from the very month you make payment.

Please sir, what does the law say concerning one year rent? Does the law see 1 year as 11months?

It is arguable but as per the decided case of JOYLAND v. WEMABOD ESTATES LTD. A rent from April to April is 12months and not 13months

A rent that started 17th April simply expired 16th April of the next year. That's 365 days but people were busy counting months which is wrong

Please explain further, how does 17/03/2020 make 12 months?

For rental properties for example, 13th April 2019 terminates at April 13th 2020. This is not a loan where it is calculated with less of a day.

Therefore,ur landlady is very wrong.

Well at least I own one but may I ask out of curiosity, if he rents in April last year, pays in March this year, Feb nxt year, Jan upper year, pays in Dec by 2023 and it goes on like that right?
