You guys are clowns. This got nothing to do with the kind of government. America, Canada are now looking like third world shitholes with piles of dead bodies everywhere. In fact they have always been shitholes but the average nigeria is brainwashed to think we have it bad here when nigeria is the best and most developed country in the world. Western societies living under a bubble.
We are talking about Nigeria, you are talking about countries that are 1000000miles ahead of you. They are at home cooling themselves with food and money their govt provide for them, you are here with your cheap phone under heat cos no light and under serious hunger, yet talking trash

Mumu. I hope you are following the entertainment on TV in New York with central park turned into isolation center and dead smelling bodies in rented truck.

The government is wholly incompetent.
I have experienced real curfew before.
When the government is serious, no one will risk coming out unless their lives depend on it
even then they will be alone in such endeavor not now that people are even coming out to socialize and
catch fun when the aim is to isolate.

Now that people are free to move around from 10 am to 2 pm according to FG, the curfew is practically over.
. Hope Lagos have enough isolation center....cos i can see worse coming with this 10 to 2pm movement allowed by the FG.

lol. I just told a friend the same thing. I am not bothered again.
I can bet my left ballz that there are close to ten thousand of persons already with the virus. I pity only the old and people with underlying predisposing diseases

Although Old people and persons with underlying health conditions are more at risk of severe disease and death from COVID-19, no age group is spared as has been shown in recent statistics. Here in the UK we lost 2 people aged 13 and 19 respectively in the last 24hrs and a lot of young people are dead while some are in the ICU fighting for their lives. Hence, as much as most young persons who get infected will survive, it will be foolhardy to let our guards down cos you can never know what your case would be if infected.

This rising number is a tip of the iceberg. Should all Nigerians be tested today I believe the figure will be thousands times this.

The real question now is how many are coming down with the symptoms how much more dying of this disease. The fact is that the morbidity and mortality rate here is negligible. This may be due to biological and or environmental factors which are still unknown.

Of the nine discharged so far only the Italian developed worrisome symptoms. No rigorous intervention were carried out for the other eight. They just remained in isolation until they tested negative. This affirms that virus is very self limiting. Many people have contracted the disease and their system has cleared it without them knowing.

In the light of the above , we do not need to panic. Let us eat well and remain positive. Malnutrition, anxiety and depression can further hamper the immune system which is the major defence against right now.

Stay safe.

the 9 new cases in Osun are all isolated so they never mingled with the society, they came from ivory coast and were quarantined upon arrival.

Yes, it will triple unless they stop tracing contacts undecided
If the borders are totally closed, we can concentrate on tracing and testing contacts

It is actually supposed to more than triple... In a population of over 200 million with widespread interstate movements and mingling, thousands of carriers shouldn't be startling or surprising... It's just basic mathematics!!!

While a lot of people load blames on our leaders, I can't help but push some blames to our returnees... People who came in from hot zones and deliberately, even stubbornly chose not to self isolate... They are as bad as their inept leaders, if not worse!!!

If it’s possible, all should be tested n the positives should be isolated. The whole Nigeria be fumigated then the lucky ones (negatives) carry on with their hustling !

Rubbish...na just trend..one thing i understand from all of this is that the rich are afraid to die the poor knows they can't get the virus cos of the huge gap between the rich and the poor..lol especially in this part of the world...now the rich are making laws to subject the poor to hardship for their own (rich) safety. If developments were evenly spread in the country lagos and fct wouldn't be topping that list flawlessly ...no cause for alarm if we can get hundreds of them looters and their relatives including fraudsters and indeed anyone who could afford an int'l flight ticket we'll make a few bucks from them (from testing to vaccination/treatment) las las them go dey positive...abi no be chloroquin again... Abeg make dem free ma homie wey dey push barrow for ogbete make dem no use their problem attack our heads.

Infection increase then deaths follow

We are in trouble

Okay... Anything that makes you happy.

But, pray tell... Of all the hundreds ready confirmed, and likely thousands equally infected but unconfirmed (due to lack of widespread testing) since early March, how many are currently hospitalized and/or dying??!... Severe Symptoms are expected to have started springing up across the nation by now...

Please enlighten us... What exactly are we missing??! Is the disease different with nations??!...

Oga shut your stupid and ignoramus attitude on a forum... Today, just today the journalist reporting from New work for TNT TV (Nigeria) said how each persons are indoors with the government taking care of their welfare (food and money). Yesterday, it was posted here in nairaland how the government of Ireland gave each person among which are Nigerian a whooping sum of #400k in naira equivalent. what are you talking about here? And you want to compare such countries with Nigeria. Your brain is not correct bro due to dead brain.

From your stupid analysis, should we then say that Lagos is a failed state because Lagos has the highest number of confirmed Covid - 19 patient than other state in Nigeria?
