Backsliding is a gradual and eventual falling away of a converted believer from a faithful relationship with GOD in CHRIST JESUS. It is the steady loss of desire to serve GOD in solemn fellowship. There are warnings signs that point in the direction of backsliding. 1. You become boastful of yourself (Matthew 26:31-35). 2. You sleep instead of praying (Matthew 26:40,44). 3. You lose spiritual discipline and self control (Matthew 26:41). 4. You rely on the arm of flesh for everything (Matthew 26:51). King Asa in his days of backsliding opted for the military assistance of Benhadad king of Syria instead of GOD Almighty (2 Chronicles 16:1-9). Asa had forgotten the past military deliverance and victories he got against Ethiopia and Lubim through GOD'S divine help. 5. You deny CHRIST out of shame, timidity or fear (Matthew 26:69-74). 6. You give up hope. You are discouraged (Matthew 26:58). 7. You become afraid of men instead of GOD (Matthew Matthew 26:69-74). Instagram handle: PastorEghosa |
