I swear man. People are struggling right now, they could barely eat 3 square meals.
The prices of basic goods have doubled.
But even with the lockdown people are still going out, how do you think they're going to abide to those rules of no handshakes, no hugging and wearing facemask? Nigerians are stubborn.

Total lockdown ain't feasible

For a country that claimed to cure the Coronavirus disease with Mefloquine, their cases of covid-19 pandemic has risen to over 6000 cases as at yesterday April 7, 2020. They are having some cases of death as well and jobs have been put on hold as a result.

And to address your last paragraph, Mefloquine is readily available for children and adults doses in reputable pharmacies.

Same thing occurred to me. Not only that, US that invented the drug are not touting it, but instead touting chloroquine to the extent of threatening India (see below).
I was lead to believe mef is hard to get.. but hey what do I know

But TOTALLY shutting down the economy is not the answer - till when? Till a vaccine is found? That’s at least a year from now!
Also we should pay some attention to the numbers. Lagos had her first case a week b4 NYC and her first death a week after NYC. Both have high population density. YET, just yesterday alone 779 people died in NY while the entire Nig has less than 10 deaths total. If we can figure out WHY we would have solved the riddle of this virus. SOMETHING saved us. The question is WHAT? Lalasticlala, tell Seun I think Ecuador sort of, kind of puts his cold weather theory in doubt.

Yeah you have a point.
The best thing right now is figuring out what's stopping the virus from spreading so fast here, maybe some temporary solutions can come out from there.
Pls pardon my stupidity and ignorance (my brain must have gone offline) but where's the facility that this research will be conducted and who exactly is/are going to conduct it?
It can't be done in just any lab, it's a virus that can spread even more from the lab if anything goes wrong.

The post is so damn long but I managed to read it all grin
Anyways, since the facility is not yet completed it is time for the government to come in. Those are the kind of things we need right now. As they're building isolation centers they should also build research centers.
The man try shaa

Just think, if a private person can set that up, think what govt can do if they really want to

My sister, there is something huge here. Do u know I stopped taking the drug to see what will happen and almost ended up in the hospital, till I started taking it again? I don’t want to say anything till am fully recovered first. Thanks for caring

That comes to the conclusion that the government don't really care about providing some necessary things until something happens.
After all, they can travel out to go get whatever the want.

Waste of time and resources. I know my body very well. Can’t be anything else. Different if there were a cure. All they’d do is give u lots of poking, lots of fluid, lots of rest, and paracetamol - which I can do better at home PLUS eat healthier food of my choice.

Honestly I get confused when they say there's no cure but news keep popping up that people are being relieved and sent home. What does the "relief" mean?

Anyways, I still think you should dial their number though. Forget eating food of your choice, just go make them take care of you small na.
I fit beg you o if you want grin. Just watching out for a brother.

Oh, the body heals itself, your body will get rid of the virus but it needs time. The trick is to find a way to keep u alive till it does that. That’s why u need a ventilator (breathing machine) to keep the person alive if he can barely breath on his own - when that happens u better get yourself quickly to a hospital!

Oh I’m almost there, I only have this pressure in my chest and slight sore throat. Thanks for looking out bro
