Lockdown: Delta Traditional Rulers Seek Continued Support For Govt

AS the stay-at-home order continues, Deltans have been advised to continue to cooperate with the State Government by fully complying with the 14-day lockdown.

The Chairman of the State Traditional Rulers Council, who is also the Obi of Owa Kingdom in Ika North East Local Government Area, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11, gave the advice in an interview with journalists.

The royal father said there was need for all Deltans to be resilient till the end of the stay- at-home order.

Dr Efeizomor described Deltans as a peace -loving and law -abiding people, who were ready to make sacrifices for the common good of all.

While commending residents for complying with government directives on COVID-19, Dr Efeizomor 11 urged the people to be patient as the stay- at -home order would soon be over.

He said tackling the pandemic required a high level of personal discipline, adding that protocols, as advised by medical experts, particularly social distancing and regular washing of hands, should be strictly adhered to.

While expressing satisfaction with the state government ‘s initiatives towards containing the COVID-19, the traditional rulers’ council Chairman said Governor Okowa had shown quality leadership in handling the affairs of the state. He maintained that the quality of isolation centres already built across the state was ‘second to none in the country,’ stressing that the centres indicated that the lives of Deltans mattered most to government.

Dr Efeizomor urged traditional rulers to continue to sensitize their subjects on the essence of the stay -at -home order
