My Fears by poetictwenty(m): 8:32am On Apr 08, 2020 |
As a kid I had my fears, Some, borne out of scenarios that brought me tears. Each age came with its fears, Some as figment of my imagination or what I hear. I feared death because it took from me an irreplaceable treasure. I feared failure because, it brought my family displeasure. I feared love, because of the many heartbreaks of yesteryears But, again, I feared having fears. I fear poverty in my fatherhood, The pain of watching my kids hunger without food. I cringe at the thought of them walking same path I walked yesteryears, Especially , being sent back from school for unpaid fees My fears kept me on my toes, And it became a friend and a good foe. It prepared me for the battles yet to come. And made me live like a man in a war front . As I grew, Learning to question my fears, By taking it to the court of faith to be judged by time. I foundout that some of the things I fear most, may never come during my time on Earth. I was just fighting a battle that ends in the battlefield of my mind. So now,I choose to feed my faith while starving my fears, Ohuche, Joseph |
