Baffling Display of Ignorance by THISDAY Columnist
By Simeon Nwakaudu
I am baffled at the level of ignorance many so-called columnists display. First, they delve into matters without proper understanding of the issues.
One Yemi Adebowale, a columnist with Thisday newspaper in his column of Saturday, April 11, 2020 accused Governor Wike of closing the air space. He went on to mislead his readers

.
Adebowale, like other media contractors of the Ministry of Aviation, has missed the point.
The point in issue is simple. It is the refusal of Carveton Helicopters to respect the extant Executive Order which requires anyone coming into the state to subject himself or herself to health checks by designated health professionals of the Rivers State Ministry of Health to ascertain their coronavirus status.

Why is it that journalists like Adebowale are blocking their ears with largesse from the EXCLUSIVE LIST, thereby refusing to reason dispassionately?
Obviously, Adebowale and his associates failed to realise that after a pilot lands, he interacts with the ground staff who are residents of Port Harcourt. He interacts with hotel staff, he interacts with supermarket operators and his passengers stay in Rivers communities for a while.
Are these aforementioned things on the EXCLUSIVE LIST?
The safety of Rivers people is important just like the safety of other Nigerians. Ignorant columnists like Adebowale and commercial editorial writers have been procured to sell this falsehood to Nigerians.
But the falsehood will expire in a matter of days. Adebowale, tell your paymasters at the Ministry of Aviation to order Carveton and other operators to subject their staff to basic health checks to ascertain their coronavirus status. That is the only way.
Buying off Newspaper and Electronic Media space to spew falsehood will not help the Ministry of Aviation.
The only reason the ignorant Minister of Aviation delved into the matter is because the offenders are pilots. Otherwise, this is basically an issue of public Safety, bordering on health.
Adebowale and THISDAY want Rivers State to leave her boundaries open, but hail other states that closed their borders. Once a man gets on the EXCLUSIVE LIST, he forgets his thinking cap. Nobody can reason with a man on that LIST.
These eaters of EXCLUSIVE LIST should explain to us why the Federal Government quarantined the Chinese Doctors for 14days, even though they claim they were tested in China before heading for Nigeria. This reckless EXCLUSIVE double standard must end. You are afraid of getting infected in Abuja, but you want Rivers people to be infected.

And again i ask, "Why are Yorubas much more interested in the goings-on in South south and SouthEast than their motherland?"

Thry display crass ignorance, and an outright disregard to reasoning when actions are not according to the dictates of their "Master".

Very intelligently written. When u see a good writeup especially d ones that unmask lies from EXCLUSIVE AUTHORITY it's easy to love it. Really loved d underscoring of d word EXCLUSIVE. I stand with Wike on this. Every thing points to Wike first alarm that d FG is only interested in their economic sojourn in Rivers State and d life of d Rivers people mean little or nothing to them. The way d Aviation minister was ranting I thought by now the pilots would have been released with unconditional apologies from Wike but las las Wike is 'raping' d loquacious Minister back to back.

The Nigerian labour Union has given him a week to release those people he arrested, otherwise, they would withdraw all essential services including fuel supplies and all aviation services.

Good luck to you and Wike with your rascality.
