The federal government considers Nigerians who buy N100 call credit as poor and will ensure they get relief cash. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya Umar, made this revelations, while speaking in an interview with State House correspondents on Tuesday. The minister disclosed that urban poor dwellers with an account balance of N5,000 or less will be among the beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer scheme. According to her, the prospective beneficiaries would be part of the additional one million households approved by President Muhammadu Buhari in his national broadcast Monday night. In the absense of reliable data, sim card spending pattern and account cashflow becomes a criteria. Better than that useless election list they are calling poorest of the poor. I also recommend they use tax record. If I pay tax in past and the lockdown is affecting my income it makes sense I be included and prioritized above tax defaulters. 1 Like 1 Share |
