Nigeria's influential network of political journalists recently celebrated one of theirs- Oki Samson Mckinggs, for aspiring to make a difference by declaring his intent to pursue a political career in the next general elections, and in acknowledgment of this progressive development, Plug Central Hub in collaboration with KBaba Multiconcepts, presents 10 unpopular facts about Oki Olatunji Samson Mckinggs, the brilliant personality behind Trek Africa Events and Newspapers.

1. Samson Olatunji Oki was born on the 3rd of April 1975 to the family of Oki Ayelas in Ondo state. He was originally a trained accountant who worked with different financial institutions in various capacities before transforming into publishing guru and CEO of Mckinggs Media, the hub for Africa's renowned Trek series. Samson is happily married and coincidentally, his wife and daughter are also April born.

2. Although Dad was a native of Ondo state and Mum from Sierra Leone, Samson attended Victoria Island Primary School and Kuramo College in Victoria island where he was an Arts genius representing his schools at debates and competitions before switching to study Accounting at the Lagos State University where he soon uncovered his knack for politics.

3. His keen interest in photography during university years was a preamble of what was to come as Samson would later undergo photography programmes and trainings. Eventually starting up Mckinggs Media with major interests in visual production, talent development, events and magazine, it was after every aspect except TV production flourished, the company decided to stick with skills acquisition projects.

4. During his active years as a versatile PR, Samson worked with several of Africa's finest personalities including Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Genevieve, Grace Amah, KBaba, MC Oluomo, Babajide Kolade Otitoju, Ozzybosco but says his most memorable experiences include covering the Amnesty Project under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 and being a Volunteer/ campaign mobilizer for the Buhari-Osinbajo campaign.

5. Mckinggs Media Productions, owned by Samson was launched in 2011 at his Church as parent company for the prestigious Trek Africa series and other projects, which over the years has successfully convened dignitaries from all spheres of life via Trek Africa Women Awards- which turned Trek Africa Awards, Trek Africa Entrepreneurship Conference, Face of Trek Africa (Beauty Pageant) and many other progressive collaborations.

6. Fondly addressed as Mr. Trek among his internationally growing community of fans and admirers, while his upperclass professional circles prefer the more corporate Mckinggs, Samson's compartmentalized activities as a youth convener, media personality and political activist is projected to grant him equal footing with any seasoned politician in his category.
