1. Men generally don't like commitment but love hunting ladies for sex

2. An average Igbo man loves money more than else in this life

3. Most Igbo men like to be very comfortable first before venturing into marriage

4. Success comes with time, hence most Igbo men usually marry when they are already far off into their late 40s, some 50s

5. Those who make it into old age dies before their own 40years old sons starts to think of procreating.

Note: In few cases they get to see thier grandkids, stay with them for a few years but it's basically those who started off with girl child as ladies marry at a younger age than guys.

Hmmm

This is susceptible to incitation and can be misconstrued for an attack yet, it makes some sense to an extent especially to the neutrals.

This is simply put, a fallacy of generalisation.

What empirical research have you conducted to arrive at the conclusion that most Igbo men don't live to see their grandkids

Marriage this, marriage that. That’s all you guys care about here in Africa, you will never see young people talk about personal development and economic stability before venturing into the rigors that comes with starting a family. That’s why you see account number flying up and down all over the social media space , the worst crime a man will commit in this life is to bring in kids into this world and allow them starve. We Igbos look for financial stability before anything else, because we love the good things of life!

This ONE na assessment too.
What's the essence of Life, if not to be enjoyed.
Would you prefer to bring in kids without proper planning and keep recycling poverty...?

IGBOS have agenda of chasing poverty away before 2050...and I think that's welcomed.
IGBOS are after their Happiness and not breeding kids that will end up becoming nuisance to others.

Would you prefer to Live to see your GRAND KIDS wretched and writhing in pains or make necessary sacrifices for them to have a sustainable development.?
IGBOS think like the whites.
They are already managing their population without being told to do so.

It's only in NIGERIA, LADIES take Marriage as BIRTHRIGHT and Champions League trophy.
In Diaspora people Date forever and still die happier than most married Nigerians.
Most WHITES without kids are happier than MILLIONS of AFRICANS.
The INTERESTING PART is that they still send AIDS/SUPPORT to Africans who keep churning out kids without control.
I Feel ashamed on your behalf for putting up such a topic.

Like MICHAEL JACKSON did say, that he preferred to live a short famous life guaranteed of sustainable development than living longer in Penury with hopeless kids.
After all, No one will Live Forever.
Better WAKE UP.

I disagree with your points. Especially the one where you said most igbo men get successful at an older age. Most igbo men hit success in their twenties. And by success I mean successful legit buying and selling businesses of all sorts.

That's not true, how many of them do you know that hit success in their twenties? When most of them are still serving "Oga" even till early 30s. Truth is the success of any man is determined my his ability to manage a nuptial/marital obligation which is represented in the form of a family/marriage. You can't tell me a man is successful when he's still single, drives about town with little or no responsibility of a family cycle and you say he's financially stable? Things are not usually the way it seems most of the time. People love packaging. Hence thier fear of getting into a committed relationship.Men who are stable aren't scared of committing to marriage. Single successful guys and married successful guys aren't mate in anything, because no true successful man you will not see with a woman besides him.

We are were we are today because we try to mimic the white man's ways without paying attention to how its has so much affected us negatively. Besides the development u see, haven't you notice that African culture we so cherished has gradually faded away courtesy to our constant imitation of the white man's ways. Their women prefer CS to normal delivery, most of thier men are gays/homosexuals. We have no value for virginity today all thanks to the white invention of the television and mobile phones, corona virus is here today because of air travel, I can go on and on and nobody has seen that all the white man represents in true reflection is negativity yet we envy them and want to be like them and you speak as if you are exposed and enlightened but the opposite is the case Mr Man, No hard feelings anyways. #Goodevening

Its in the open my friend, approach any 25years old Igbo guy now and see for yourself. Is either his father is late already or he's very old and about to die. 25years old boys oo, I haven't even gone further than that, just do your findings. A fair day to you!

Absolute nonsense.
What about those who never married at all, or die when there children where young? Even though they married early.

Our life is in God's hands
The most important thing is enjoying every moment of one's life.
Doing the right things now one is alive.
Worrying about all those you wrote up there is foolishness

What has all these points you put up now got to do with your QUESTION...?
Why creating more TOPICS when we are not done with the one you created above...?
Who told you those in DIASPORA don't teach their kids culture...?
I live in DIASPORA with my Wife and we speak IGBO in my Apartment and everywhere we meet.
IF you want IGBOs to rush into MARRIAGES, then behave yourselves.

As a man who has seen a lot in a short time, I wouldn't advise any struggling YOUNG IGBO man to marry especially when the LADY has nothing else to offer beyond sexxx.

This is the most senseless topic I have seen on nairaland. If the OP comes from a family where men marry late or wait till their 40s or 50s to get married, it does not mean others toe the same line. Some of them who are into business of buying and selling start off quite early as they drop out of secondary school or barely finish primary school to start their own business or do some years of apprentice. Most Marry in their late 20s to mid 30s.

Op, that is your opinion.

How many igbo men do you know?
You met a few hundred and you run a conclusion on millions.
That's not fair.

Mana, kam jukwagi, ilugo di?
