FOUR NEW WHATSAPP FEATURES

1. PASSWORD PROTECTION FOR CHAT BACKUPS
WhatsApp currently backups your chats to Google Drive without any protection, which means that Facebook or WhatsApp can view the contents of your chats with others. This is about to change with the messaging platform providing password protection for chat backups. This feature would allow users to set a password or pin to their chat backups to secure them for privacy, this will encrypt the backups.

2. SELF DESTRUCTING MESSAGES
The self-destructing messages feature has been worked on by WhatsApp since late 2019, tho this feature is not new to users of Telegram. The feature was spotted in the beta version of Whatsapp but didn’t make it to the public version. Credible Reports from WABetaInfo shows that WhatsApp is about to make this feature public.

This ephemeral messaging system would allow users to set a self- destruct timer for messages in individual chats or group chats. Automatically the messages would be deleted from chats after the specified timer goes off.

3. NEW RULES FOR AUTO-DOWNLOAD OF MEDIA
We have seen the self-destructing feature another new feature by WhatsApp would restrict the app from downloading just about anything and everything from forwarded messages. Forwarded messages often come with a multimedia attachment that gets auto-downloaded to a user’s device, with this feature would definitely save a huge amount of space in your device.

4. MULTIPLE LOGINS
Another featured rumored to be a feature on the app is the support for multiple devices as it will allow users to log in to different smartphones using the same account. The app only allows this feature on desktops or laptops via WhatsApp Web, but this would be soon made possible on smartphones.
