Ibagun Ward Sets Up COVID-19 Committee


Ibagun ward in Ilorin East local government area of Kwara state has set up its own COVID-19 technical committee in line with the directive of the state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The setting up of the committee was supervised by the governor's Special Adviser (Political), Alh Sa'adudeen Salahudeen.

The Ibagun ward COVID-19 committee has, Alh. Idowu Morogun as chairman, Barr. Abdulrauf Ajao, co- chairman and
Mohammed Jamiu as secretary.

The publicity sub committee is chaired by Alh Abdullahi Olesin while the sensitization sub committee is chaired by Alh Sa'ad Babatunde.

Other sub committees include finance chaired by Alh Amuda Musbau,health and medical chaired by Alh Abdullahi Nageri and the palliative headed by Sulyman Jimoh.

Governor AbdulRazaq had directed the 193 wards across the state to form their own committees to deepen enlightenment on the COVID-19 pandemic and own the campaign against community transmission of the virus.

“They can have various subcommittees especially in the area of public enlightenment on COVID-19 and how to prevent its spread, and how to support those who are the hardest hit by the stay-at-home directive in their areas," the governor said in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.

AbdulRazaq said the main focus is for “our people to take ownership of the campaign against the spread of the virus in their respective communities and areas of influence.”
